Sasuke was unable to sleep because of today's events and the confusion drove him crazy. "Why does this woman have a hold over me?" he whispered as he closed his eyes trying to catch some sleep.

As soon as he closed his eyes, though, he heard the door crack open, but pretended to sleep as Hinata came closer to his bedside. She got down on her knees, tracing her fingers over his pale skin as she softly spoke.

"Hey? Are you awake? " She whispered, shaking him a bit. "I guess not then," she said, her tone softer than before but making no move to leave.

"I wish that things could stay the way they are now." She continued, and all Sasuke could do was listen.

"It would make things much easier. At first, I found you extremely annoying, although the compliments that you gave me warmed my heart every time you did. No one has ever treated me the way you have, and I appreciate every minute that we've spent together... I never wanted to return your feelings because I'm afraid of getting hurt. I hope you understand that it would not turn out well for the both of us, but the truth is, I do like you. I think I love you. If you leave, I'll be just like I was before: invisible and quiet. With you, I could be myself, and I love that you went out of your way to know me and... " At this point, she couldn't keep it in anymore and silently cried, half the time feeling like an idiot for doing so. Sasuke listened intently whilst memories of the past months flooded his vision, and without him realising it, a few tears escaped from his eyes.

She couldn't help but remember how Sasuke acted when she returned home before, because...

1. He looked hella confused, as if he didn't know why he was here.

2. When he called out her name, she couldn't recognise the tone it held and no "boo" or "hina chan" were added.

"His back," she whispered.
