Song: Deliverance- RY X

[TWO WEEKS EARLIER]

Bellamy's POV:
I've had a love of words since the day I was born. Not literally. But I'd obsess over them. Use odd words people didn't know. I'd have to explain myself a lot of the time about what the word meant. I was considered to have logolepsy, an obsession with words. I accepted it after awhile. I learned new words every day. The eutony of them. Or the sound of them intrigued me. And it's how I grew up. After my sister was born I tried teaching her. She could never pick up on it.

A little history lesson. 97 years ago the last of the human race shot up into space when the Earth had a nuclear apocalypse that killed everyone on Earth. It now sits in radiation. 12 Nations had operational space stations for use at the time of the bombs. We now call it The Ark. One station composed of many coming together. It was told Earth needed 100 more years before it was survivable again. 4 more space locked generations and man can go home.

We had rules. For every family, only one child. I was first born. Then my little sister was born. I named her Octavia. After the Greek God Agustus' sister. We kept her hidden for 15 years. I had just turned 19, about to be fully integrated into the Guard. The Guard was our police, security, and law. One day there was going to be a party with all the teenagers. And all Octavia's life she wanted to leave the room. This was her chance. It was a masquerade party. I gave her a mask and took her to the solstice celebration. Music and dancing filled the large room. Octavia finally was having fun. But our luck had run out. We got caught. A security check happened. And I tried to get her out. Doing so cost me my job, and my mom. That day my mom, Aurora, was floated for illegal birth. And Octavia was put into the Sky Box. Juvenile offenders go there. And I couldn't see her.

Two years passed and I was working as a janitor. Now an even lower class then where I had started. I was approached by the Guards lieutenant. Octavia was being sent to Earth with 99 other delinquents. He offered me a job to get onto the drop to be with my sister. She was my family so I took it. Every risk was worth my sister, my only family left. My job was to kill Chancellor Jaha. I was given a gun and itinerary of where Jaha would be. I shot him and got on the ship and was sent to the Ground. We landed with a bang. I went down to the first floor to the doors. I got to the door lever. I stood there and kids surrounded me.

"Stop!" A voice said.

I looked back seeing a blonde girl climbing down the ladder. The crowd split letting her pass through.

"The air could be toxic," she spoke.

"If the air is toxic we're all dead anyways," I said turning back to the lever.

"Bellamy?" I heard a familiar voice croak.

I turned back seeing her climbing down the ladder.. She stepped a little quicker and embraced me. A smile on her face. I half her head and stroked her hair. Whispers from around talking about her. That's her brother. They'd spew. It's the girl who hid in the floor. They went silent.

"My god, look how big you are," I said brushing her bangs back.

"What the hell are you wearing?" She asked as she pulled from my embrace. "A guards uniform?"

"I borrowed it, to get on the drop ship," I explained. "Someone's gotta keep an eye on you."

She hugged me again and i had a light laugh.

"Where's your wristband?" The blonde asked.

"Do you mind?" Octavia snapped. "I haven't seen my brother in years," Octavia spit back.

"No one has a brother," some delinquent called.

"That's Octavia Blake! The girl they found hidden in the floor," another female delinquents voice spoke.

Octavia then had a sudden outburst but I held her back.

"Octavia. Octavia no," I said holding her arm. "Let's give them something else to remember you by."

"Yeah, like what?" Octavia asked.

"Like being the first person on the Ground in 100 years?" I smiled.

She smiled. I pulled the lever down and the door fell forward. We all took a deep inhale of the oxygen. Octavia moved forward. I looked at the komorebi. It was amazing. Octavia stepped onto the Ground and looked around. A smile grew on my face.

"We're back, bitches!" She screamed in glory.

All the delinquents whooped and hollered and filed out in excitement. I followed stepping to see my sister with a smile. She laughed as she saw everyone jump in excitement. I nodded. We made it to the Ground.
