Song: Drank in My Cup- (mollyjean (soundcloud))
Bellamy's POV:
We carried the deer back after Clarke scored it for us. She had a large smile as we arrived back. Murphy was a little pissed but glad. I knew Monty has been working on making some Moonshine. When I got back Monty said he had finished it. I grinned at the news. Finally we can celebrate and have a night to relax and have some fun."Tonight, we celebrate! To fresh air, good food, and freedom!" I announced as the night grew over the daylight.
Kids whooped and hollered. Monty served drinks in little tins we make-shifted into cups. Jasper was feeling better so he was up too. He saw us and brought me one and I took it without hesitation. I walked around the camp with the tin in hand. Some of the kids cooked the deer and watched over the walls while most of us celebrated. I just left a conversation with Murphy and Raven who were chatting it up.
My tin was running empty as I walked to join the main event by the fire. I heard singing and saw dancing. I smiled. These kids are ridiculous. I doubt they've ever been drunk before. I then saw Clarke finish a conversation with a very drunk Jasper. She made eye contact with me and dismissed herself from Jasper. We stopped a few feet away from each other.
"How's the party Princess?" I asked finishing my drink.
"Good, I guess. First party I've had since birthdays," she joked holding her tin with both hands.
"I'm empty," I sighed as I brought the cup down from my lips.
"Me too," she said with a laugh waving Monty over. "How about some refills?" The Princess asked.
"You trying to get drunk?" Monty asked poring the clear alcohol.
"I'll say," I answered for Clarke as Monty topped off my drink.
Monty gave us both a nod and a smile before he wandered to fill more drinks. We smiled back sipping our drinks. Clarke sparked conversation between us quickly. She was getting tipsy after her third refill. She finished her tin and begged to to go on a walk through the woods. She finally convinced me with begging puppy dog eyes. I set our cups down and walked to the gate with her holding on my arm.
Miller called out asking where we were going. I just told him I could handle it. Clarke was petite. If she was to just pass out I'd just carry her back to camp. As of right now I'm already practically holding her upright. She stumbled over revealed roots of trees and stepped over flowers. We came to a clearing and she said some line of trumpery. Something along the lines of loving the view of the sky. She pulled my wrist down to lay in the tall grass. The tips of the greenery stabbed my back through my thin, blue v-neck. Clarke nuzzled close to me holding my wrist as tight as she could with being how drunk she was. She pointed to the sky.
"Look! The little shiny things! We used to live up there!" She slurred with laughed
"The stars," I laughed.
"The stars!" She said happily drunk.
I nodded my head. She started to go quiet. I looked over to see if she was sleeping. She wasn't asleep. She just stared at the sky above. The twinkling of the stars reflected in the blue of her eyes. I watched as tears welled up in the eyes of hope I knew. I sat up pulling Clarke to sit with me. A tear silently rolled down her face and she sniffed in a unsteady breath.
"What's wrong?"
"My dad. All my life, he told me of the stars. Their meaning, their makeup, their story. How they were formed, why they exist. He told me of constellations I'd see if I was on Earth. I never thought I'd actually see them," Clarke said more clearly, with lots of pauses, almost like she wasn't drunk.
She looked up. And I just watched her in the pain of the past.
"You see those 5 really bright ones that form a W, almost?"
"Yeah. I see them," I said lightly.
"Cassiopeia. The Constellation was-," she started but hesitated to finish.
"Named after the vain queen Cassiopeia in Greek mythology, who boasted about her unrivalled beauty," I finished Clarke's sentence.
"Yeah," she said as another tear fell and she met my eyes.
"Come on. We should head back," I suggested wiping the tear away.
She nodded. I stood up and offered my hand. Clarke grabbed it and I pulled her up lightly. I held her waist and we started to walk. She struggled to stay with the pace and was drowsy.
"Clarke. I'm gonna carry you. Okay?" I assured stopping her.
She nodded with a light grumble. I scooped my arm behind her knees lifting her up. Her head leaned on my shoulder as I carried her carefully. I saw the gates of the camp and Miller waved me in. I walked to Clarke's tent sliding her onto her cot. I slid my arms out from under her. I tilted my head and smiled lightly. I brushed stray hair behind her ear and took a step away. I stood up leaving the tent. I shut the flap of the door and met with Octavia who sat perched on a fallen tree. She had a dark glare in her eye as some of the guys walked around.
"Sleep O," I said joining her on the log.
"I'm not the one who's drunk," she snapped back.
"Octavia."
"Just stop Bell. I'm gonna watch over everyone. Go sleep those drinks off."
"Okay. I'll see you in the morning. Be good. And please, don't give Miller or Murphy any trouble while I'm out," I said holding her chin to look at me.
"Okay," she said harshly.
"Goodnight O," I said before kissing atop her head softly wandering to find an another cot.
