"Finally. It's here!" I say to myself as I wake up on a cold, frosty December morning. "My families annual trip! I've been waiting so long!" I hop out of bed as fast as lightning, and put on my light pink slippers. "Cozy," I say to myself. I open my door, and walk out to realize my family scribbling around like a bunch of rats scurrying to find food. I see my stepdad sitting on a chair, drinking coffee. He's sorting through some papers of some sort. Then I look to my left, and see my mom packing more clothes. She shoves several shirts, pants, undergarments, etc. into 4 bags. "Honey, how are the insurance papers coming along?!" My mom yells to my stepdad, Richard, who is still looking at papers. "Er- good! We have them all!" He yells back to my mom. She looks released to hear that. "Jane! Don't do that!" My mom tells my 6 year old stepsister, as she runs around the house in her...underwear. I walk up to my mom, who looks panicked to see me. "Mom? What's going on? Why is it so busy here for some reason?" I ask her. "Elissa. Go get dresses now. Wear the outfit I picked out for you yesterday." She replies, not answering my question whatsoever. "But, mom. You didn't-" She cuts me off. "NOW," she says, sternly. I walk off back to my room and put on my outfit my mom picked for me. I hurry as fast I can, and look at the time. "Oh no! That's why we're hurrying! It's 9:30!" We should have left 2 hours ago! And there's a huge blizzard coming later today!" I put my tennis shoes on, without tying them. "Good thing I got MY bag ready last night. Unlike THESE people." I say to myself again. I bring my bag out and see my family a little more calmed down than before. My mom was relieved to realize how fast I got ready. "Good girl Elissa. Go put your bag by the door honey. Your father is ready and so are you and I." She says to me, with a bright smile. I'm irritated she said "father". Richard is not my father. He's just some dumb guy my mom likes. I, personally, think there are better people. But he's not my main problem. It's my stepbrother, James I hate the most. I forgot THEY were coming with us. Why was I so excited again? Oh right, I wasn't. I hope we have that blizzard early so this trip will canceled and I won't have to spend time with these dumb butts. Aka: My stepbrother and stepdad
