Title: Say something

Sherlock Holmes is a complicated man. He was infuriating and arrogant, but I loved him. So damn much. I wanted to tell him, but I knew it was a stupid idea. We'd been together for seven months but... I knew he didn't love me. Why would he? I rolled out of bed, leaving my sleeping detective wrapped up in the blankets while I made tea. I heard the soft foot prints of my tall boyfriend and I turned to give him his tea. Only problem was that Sherlock was shirtless. I dropped both cups and slapped my hands over my eyes. After seven months, I hadn't seen him shirtless. I squeaked and turned away. He groaned sleepily I heard him shuffle around with the napkins. I heard them being thrown into the bin, along with the broken mugs, followed by a pair of warm arms wrapping around my waist.

"Sorry if I startled you." He mumbled and kissed my hair. This was the most affection Sherlock had ever shown me. "You were mumbling in your sleep you know."

"What did I say?" I asked softly, feeling Sherlock's nose nuzzle into my neck.

"That you were upset." He murmured. "What's wrong?" I turned in his arms and kissed him. He froze for a moment, then kissed me back.

"I love you." I said and he stopped breathing. He sighed, but didn't move. I gulped nervously. We stood in silence. "Say something." I pleaded. Silence. Tears welled in my eyes and I ducked out of his arms. I ran. I threw on my coat and slipped into my boots, running out of 221B in my pyjamas. It was just my luck that it was raining and I walked down the road, praying a car would veer onto the pavement and hit me. Why did I do that?!

"Y/N!" I heard Sherlock behind me so I ran. Sobbing and stumbling, I ran away from the man I loved. I turned a corner and leaned on a wall, trying to catch my breath. I closed my eyes only to feel a shadow blocking the light. I open my eyes to see Sherlock, caging me to the wall with his arms. His lips pressed to mine and I kissed him without a second thought. My fingers grabbed at the collar of his coat. When he pulled away, he whispered softly in my ear. "I love you." Kissing in the rain was so cliche but so lovely.
