I've waited my whole entire life for this one moment and it's finally here. He's coming. I can feel his footsteps drawing nearer as I sit on my Grandfather's roots. He's ever so close now.
"Grandfather Deku, why can't I just run to him now?" I nervously ask Grandfather.
I've been sitting on his roots all morning and I'm more restless now than I was before. Plus, sitting on his old wood has made my bottom splinter.
"Young Deku," Grandfather starts, wheezing as he speaks. "Do you remember the stories I would tell you, when you were just a young seedling?"
"Of course I do! The stories of how all the other Dekus' went out and helped the young Adventurer with his quest! Man, they were so cool!" I shout to him in excitement.
He chuckles and as he does, the vibrations from his laugh echoed through his hollow trunk, forcing birds to flee from nearby trees. Sadly, a careless bird flew right in front of Grandfather's mouth as he was taking in a deep breath and got caught in his trunk, causing him to choke.
"Grandfather Deku!" I shouted with worry.
Birds always get stuck in Grandfather's trunk, but it's more of a worry now that he's much older and weaker. I move closer to the opening in his trunk to see how I could help, but right as I did, a large clump of sap comes flying towards me. The force of the sap being thrown towards me knocks me down a couple of feet from where I was standing. He coughs two more times and a few feathers from the bird comes fluttering out of his mouth.
"Yuck!" I said, trying to fling the sap off me.
When he caught his breath he said, "Sorry, my boy. As I was going to say, You're the same as ever, and you still have much to learn and waiting for the Adventurer is just a small part of your new adventure."
"Uhg, and what part is that?" I said, only partially paying attention to Grandfather. I was trying to wipe all of the sap off, so then I could look decent for the Adventurer.
"Here, use one of my leaves." He said, giving me permission to take a leaf off the closest branch. "Young Deku, the Adventurer has to first accept his fate and realize how much of a burden it will be to him. He's got a heavy load on his shoulders and you'll be there to cheer him on when no one else does. That is your mission, but if he does not accept his fate, then you must wait here until he does."
"Well, then I'll force him to accept his fate, whether he likes it or not. I've been waiting here for 15 years and I don't want to wait any longer." I tell Grandfather, as I wipe my face with the large leaf.
"Young Deku," Grandfather started, after a few minutes of silence.
"Yes, Grandfather?"
"Young Deku, I'm proud of you. Good luck and may your journeys be filled with joy."
As he says this, I turn around to find a young human boy at the entrance of the field here in Kokiri Forest. He was only 200 yards away, but I could still feel his intense glare freeze my entire being. As he moved closer, I could see more intimidation in his fiery red eyes and in his whole face screaming, "What are you looking at, punk?" E-except with different words at the end. His blond hair made him look like an angry hedgehog that's ready to bite your head off.
"Oh Grandfather Deku," I start to ask in intense fear, "Who is this Adventurer?"
