"What do you mean he just up and left?" Natasha asked with a shocked look on her face and a brownie in her hand, she was drooling from all this drama,
"What I mean I said, Nat, he kinda was annoyed, I think-"
"That Sam asked you out?!"
"I don't know! He just said 'Looks like Sam made you pretty full', I don't know what he meant!"
"He was jealous, Y/N!" You couldn't help but feel a little accomplished, a little... happy,
"You think?" She smirked and swirled her finger in your face,
"Ooooo look at this one, she loves it." You rolled your eyes with a smile, you weren't gonna lie, it felt great that Bucky had maybe felt jealous that someone else had caught your attention. Your train of thought was disrupted by the sound of your phone going off. You picked up your phone and slid the button across the screen to answer the call,
"Hey, sweetheart," Sam's sweet voice rang through your phone, "You wanna come open your door? I couldn't wait until tomorrow." You couldn't help but smile at his gesture, you opened the door and clicked off your phone. In his hand he held flowers and a box of chocolates,
"Hi, Sam," He handed you his gifts and stepped into your house with a hug and a kiss on the cheek, "You didn't have to get these for me."
"What can I say? A beautiful girl has to have beautiful flowers and a girl as sweet as you needs chocolates." You laughed and blushed, looking down on the ground, "Please don't hide your face from me, I love it."
"T-thank you."
"You wanna go grab lunch?"
"I actually already ate." You said,
"Oh? Well we can go for a walk in Central Park?" You smiled and took his hand,
"Sure, just let me get changed."
"You don't need to, if you don't want to." You laughed and shook your head, smiling,
"But I'm wearing sweats and a jumper, don't you think I look a little odd?"
"Never. You look beautiful no matter what you're wearing." This was a change to something like going out with Bucky, he would tell you how horrible you looked and you should at least look decent but Sam was different, he didn't mind what you looked like and that was a good thing, right? But then you wondered, why on earth you were thinking of Bucky when you were with someone who wasn't annoying you constantly,
"I'll just go fix my hair, okay?" He nodded and let your hand go. You brushed your hair and put it up into a pony tail and changed your pants to leggings. You walked out and greeted him again, taking his hand. You called out to Natasha, telling her you'll be back soon.
You walked through Central Park, hand in hand as the snow poured down, currently laughing about that time Sam accidentally got dog poop on his sleeve after dog-sitting his friends' dog, Doug. You were no doubt having a great time but you couldn't push away the thought about Bucky. You hadn't seen him since what happened in the café and that was on Tuesday, three days ago. It wasn't that you wantedto think about Bucky while on a little date with Sam, he just kind of crossed your mind.
"You okay?" Sam asked, his eyes full of concern. He'd noticed your laugh had faded and you had a blank stare which just trailed along the pathway, he squeezed your hand,
"Yeah? Of course." You gave him a small smile, taking a sip of your coffee,
"You sure?"
"Yeah, just stuff about school."
