There were three people in the house but somehow every single room and every single corner still felt empty and cold. The sun was shining outside but it seemed like there was a cloud storming up over the house. You took a look at the baby in the crib, his pure eyes and innocent cooing smile a clear representation of being unbeknown of the situation around him, of what he had just lost.

Bucky's hands snaked around your waist, surprising you. He nuzzled his face in your neck and you could feel the heat of his breath on your skin. You didn't want to believe what you'd heard on the phone. You didn't want it to be true. You wanted Steve and Natasha to come through the door and tell you that they were sorry for being late. You wanted them to come through the door that the flight was delayed a week. It never came. You wanted to cry. You wanted to ask him to hold you tighter. But showing pain was not an option right now.

"How are you feeling?" He asked with a soft voice, peppering a kiss on your shoulder,

"I- I don't know... It just doesn't feel real..."

"I know, I can't believe they're- um... gone." He sighs, taking a seat next to you, "What's gonna happen to AJ?"

"I don't know, Buck, I don't know." You both shared a kiss and laid down on the bed, your eyes shutting close as AJ's coos grew quieter.

You woke up to the sound of the door. The knocks growing louder as your eyes opened. You untangled yourself from Bucky's embrace and put on a jacket, running yourself downstairs to the noise of the door. You swung the door open, feeling the breeze of the morning. On the porch stood a man, dressed in a suit, hair neatly split. He carried a leather-bound suitcase and shyly smiled at you.

"Miss. Y/L/N?" He asked, his voice slightly squeaky. You nodded, "I'm Theodore Hood, I'm the Romanov-Rogers' family Lawyer." He held out his hand and you shook it letting him in, "I'm here to talk to you about what's going to happen to the family assets."

"Okay, please sit down, I'll go get James."

"Please do." He entered the dining room and sat down on the cold wooden chairs of the dining table. You ran upstairs and shook Bucky awake, almost instantly, AJ had woken up too as if they were in sync.

"What? What's up?" He groggily asked,

"The lawyer's here." His eyes opened more as the word 'lawyer' slipped from your mouth, he put on a shirt and travelled downstairs with AJ yawning awake in his arms. You readied a bottle and a teething cookie, setting him down in the highchair near the dining table. Both you and Bucky sat down opposite of Theodore who settled with his hands together and stared at the both of you with a serious face.

"So?" Bucky started,

"Right." He lifted the suitcase onto the table and clicked it open, taking out a thick pile of paper, "Are you aware of the contents of Natasha and Steve's will?" You both looked at each other before shaking your head in disagreement. He let out a chuckle and smiled, "You'd be surprised." He handed you the paper and you situated it in the middle of you both.

1. We revoke all former assets in our name.

2. We appoint, as our executor(s) the Godparents of our child Aaron James Romanov-Rogers, Y/N Y/L/N of Black Street, Apartment 3B, New York City, and James Buchanan Barnes of The Guild Hotel, Room 87, New York City.

3. We give the whole of our estate and earning to Y/N Y/L/N and James Buchanan Barnes.

4. We also leave our child, Aaron James Romanov-Rogers, in the care of Y/N Y/L/N and James Buchanan Barnes.

Your hand was over your mouth and Bucky had nothing but a blank face, not knowing what to say or what to act like.

"This entire thing is yours, the land, everything, and we are fully aware that you, Miss Y/L/N are still in school, and Mr Barnes is under the government's wing after his incident, their earnings that we were left for you will last about five years, just enough time to get you a job, Miss Y/L/N." You nodded, "You need to sign these papers saying you agree with everything in the clause and CPS will need to investigate how you run the house to see if the baby is okay."
