Narrator POV
Y/N L/N was an orphan living in H/T. She was abandoned a month after birth because her parents thought it would be easier to give her up then get an abortion. She was dropped off at an orphanage where she lived her whole life because nobody wanted to adopt her. She had no friends at the orphanage because she always got into trouble. She tried to run a couple of times during her teen years, but she was always found. This time, she had a better plan.
Y/N's plan was to make a dummy out of pillows and hide it in her bed. Next, she would pack her clothes and hide them under her bed. When everyone was asleep, she would grab her stuff and leave. But she planned to do this when she turned 18. She is currently 17 and her birthday is in a few months. 'You can survive a few more months here Y/N.' you thought.
---Time Skip to your birthday---
Today, you officially became 18. You had enough knowledge to survive in the world due to private schooling and all that shit. Tonight was the night. 'Just gotta live through today and you will finally be free from this shit hole' you thought.
You did what you usually do through the day. Get up, get showers, brush your teeth, get dressed, have breakfast, then go to school till 3. After school, you do homework and then you have free time. After that, its bed time.
You were currently having free time when one of the girls came in and told us that it was bed time. So, I did my usual routine. I brushed my teeth, changed, and went to bed. And since everyone was currently sleeping, this was your chance. You put the dummy on the bed and put the blanket over it. Then, you grabbed your stuff and hopped out the window. You began to run until you were tired.
You were running for so long that you didn't know you were in the city. The orphanage was a little building that was right outside the city. You've never gotten this far in any of your attempts at escaping. Mostly because you did it during the day. But anyways, you looked around at the picture before you. The city was beautiful. The buildings lit up the night sky alongside the moon. In the distance, there was a beautiful water fountain in the middle of a park that was lit up. You were so deep in your gaze, you didn't realize that you had to get going.
You were walking until you found an allyway. You shrugged off all of the bad feelings and walked until you saw a wall. 'Guess I'll crash here. Good thing I brought an extra pillow and blanket' you thought. You lied the pillow down then the blanket. You grabbed a blanket big enough for you to sleep on it and put it over your body. Once you found a comfortable position, you fell asleep.
---Morning time---
You woke up with the bright sun blaring into the alleyway you slept in. You lied back down while your eyes tried adjusting to the brightness. Once they finally decided to cooperate, you sat back up and put everything back in your bag. You walked out of the alleyway, your hair looking like a rat's nest, and started walking down the street. You didn't really pay any attention to your surroundings, but all you could hear was the beeping and honking of horns, or even the sound of other people walking around you. Some people glared at you while others payed no mind.
You were currently in a deep day dream until you bumped into someone. "Sorry." You mumbled. "Watch it, kid." he growled. You began walking again, this time stopping to sit on the curb since your feet were tired. Then an idea popped into your mind. You were gonna try to get money from people. I mean, your 18 and you just ran away from your only "home." You were homeless and broke. 'Damn. I should've taken some money with me' you thought.
For some reason, you had a hat in your bag. You took it out and being smart, you brought paper and markers with you. On the paper, you wrote, "Need money for food. I'm 18 and homeless." Maybe people wouldn't believe you but fuck them. You grabbed your stuff and sat against the building behind you. You held up the sign and placed the hat beside you.
---Couple hours later---
It was starting to get a bit dark but you didn't care. Less people were out now meaning less chance of getting money. Earlier, a lot of people dropped coins in my hat and someone brought me food and a sweater. I thanked them, of course, because i'm not rude. Occasionally, I would get a 10 dollar bill dropped in my hat. I was very thankful for that. It was reaching the point to where no one was out so I gave up and went into the nearest alleyway. I counted the money I had. I had about 25 dollars. That's good. I could go get food now. I'm not spending it on anything else unless I really need it.
I put the money in a safe place and placed down my "bed" and fell asleep.
