Song is; Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken by Pink

"When d'you reckon Mr Brond will retire?" asked Holly.

"Hol, it's it first year teaching, I doubt he's going to retire any time soon," Julia reasons with her. I just smile and continue to walk down the stairs, my head in Layla land. That's what my dad calls it when i zone out and focus my mind on random things. I have an extremely short attention span. As Julia heads of to her roll call class, Holly catches up with me.

"Hey are you ok?" She asks. I nod.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine! I'm great!"

"Ok.." We walk in silence the rest of the way till i catch sight of Macy and Amanda.

"Hey,". Macy turned around while Amanda continued talking to Cody.

"Oh, hey. How was Aurora?" she asked. Aurora was a virtual classroom where we held our maths, English and science lessons over a computer screen, and our teachers were hours and hours away, as well as our other classmates.

"The usual," I rolled my eyes and glared at the ground. I hated it. The way they could make us do the extra work with the excuse, "You are more academically enhanced, so you will be able so hold the pressure more." Bullshit. Complete and utter bullshit.

"Quit!" She says.

"Believe me I want to, but my mother says, "' I will not have a quitter for a daughter"' and also because apparently i would learn the same things next year that I learned this year," I say.

"Oh." I smile and turn around to see James standing directly in front of me.

"Shit!"

"Well hello to you too." Oh haha. I grinned at him.

"So how was Ollie's recital?" I asked. He glared at me.

"She expected my to lead a bloody standing ovation i swear!! At least I turned up!" He says aggressively. I laugh. Classic. Ollie had a piano recital last night and unfortunately James had to attend because she needed "family support".

"It's not funny! Oh and mum wants to know if you want to come over on the weekend?"

"Sorry I can't I have to go to Orange for hockey," I say. He nods.

"I thought so but she said to check just in case." Our conversation come to a stop with the arrival of out roll call teacher.

"Quiet everyone please. Okay ley me count you, 1,2.....7.......9.......15......17, yep we're all hear. Okay and the only notice is the one about the challenge in the library with the codes. Ok you can go do whatever you do till the bell goes," he says. This is why this teacher is so amazing. He doesn't really care. It's so, what's that word, uuuum, inspiring. I walk over to the tables that our squad sits at and I pull out my phone and wait for the bell.

About five minutes later I was still figuring out how to beat my high score on dune. Still couldn't get past 9. Damn. BRING BRING BRING BRING. I look up to see students flow out of classes and I stand up to go and meet Sierra and Olivia.

"Hey," I say.

"Hey. Mum wants to what time to pick you up on Saturday for Orange," Olivia says. Um.

"8?"

"Okay." We all walk over to our table to find that Alex and Tyler are already there.

"Alex can I have your phone?"

"No."

"Why?"

"Because."

"Because why?"

"Why are you so annoying?" He asks as he reaches for his phone. I smile.

"All part of my charm," I say with a smile. We start our annual routines. I hand Tyler my water bottle. Sierra eats her strawberries. Alex looks over my shoulder. Olivia eats the food Ella buys at the canteen. Molly eats a pie.

Everything was great. Until one very fine person had to come over and ruin everything.

"Hey can i sit here with you guys?" The one and only very fine Hunter Brent asks. Everyone looks at me. Well what else would they do? I was the one that was used. That was hurt. That was trodden all over like i was just a piece of rubbish, which in his mind i probably was. With this though, i stood up, grabbed my bag, and said "catch you guys later," and walked off. I decided to go to Melainie. Mel was the big sister i never had. My own protector. I saw her sitting with Jackson, her boyfriend, and best friend Faith. I walked over and sat down quietly next to her.

"Hey hun," she said. Turning her body to talk to me.

"Hi," I say. She looks at me closely.

"What's up?" Jackson comes over to my other side and looked at me.

"Not much really. Oh you know how I told you guys about Hunter Brent?" They nodded.

"We're still gonna bash him," Mel promised. I laugh, because she really would.

"Well he just comes up out of the blue, like nothing happened and asked if he could sit with us. And i though why should i stay at a table with someone who treated me like i was literally less than dirt?" I say. Mel hugged me, because 1. she knew how much he hurt me, and 2. she knew how much i cared about him.

"Oh honey. Just sit with us till he goes away. We're all good with that aren't we?" She asked her friends.

"Definitely!" I smiled.

"'Course!" I smiled. Just at that moment the bell rung. I hugged Mel hard and ran to class. It was language so i had to walk to the other side of the school, and believe me, it was like climbing over mountains with the amount of stairs and ramps in the way. When I got there half of the class was already there including my friends i walked over and stood in between Ella and Sierra.

"There you are! I was doing laps looking for you," Sierra said.

"I was with Mel, sorry. I just didn't want to stay at the table," I said. She nodded being the best friend that she was, and didn't judge my dramatic point of view.

"Boys for the last time stay in the line!" Ms. Job said for the billionth time this year. They all shuffled into line. As she walked past she smiled at me and I gave her the best smile i could muster. She seemed satisfied.

"Okay, when we go in, take your seats and continue of your German team banner," She let the door open and we filed in. I took my seat on the end of the road and just as i was about to sit down a note fluttered down onto my desk. I opened it.

Please meet me outside the hub at lunch
