1939 June 21st

It was an early sunny summer morning. After having a decision to spend the first half of summer in New York, the Scamander family was here, at Queenies place. That day, Queenie wasn't working. She read her newspaper and continued to tell incredible stories to Madeline, her sisters daughter. Newt recently finished another book, and Tina just enjoyed seeing Maddy and their three-year-old son Matt grow. Madeline, a kid full of imagination, and Matt, a kid in love with dad's book illustrations.

The house was full of sunlight and Maddy's laughter. But it all got way crazier, when Newt went outside and was greeted by an owl.

"Maddy is going to Hogwarts!" He announced just as he walked back in. Tina's face was shinning, although deep inside, she really wanted Madeline to go to Ilvermorny.

Madeline stood up, as she was sitting on the ground near Queenie, all happy and smiling.

"Mom! I'm going to Hogwarts!" She started jumping around. That girl was very exited, even forgot that her dad, Newt, was once expelled. Matt didn't quite understand what was happening and continued looking at all the different beasts written about in dad's book.

"Hogwarts? You're going to tell me all about it! You've heard about Ilvermorny enough!" Queenie giggled and continued with her newspaper.

July ended, so did the holidays in New York. The family came back to London and began their preparation.

1939 August 15th

"Welcome, Madeline Louise Scamander, to Diagon Alley!" Newt smiles from ear to ear while holding Madeline's hand. Maddy was fascinated, stunned, yet very very intrigued. She has never before seen so many kids that were like her in one place. "First, and the most important, we are going to get you a wand!"

"A wand?"

"Yes, one time I almost lost mine," Newt takes out his wand and shows it to Madeline, "a close call, but my teacher and a great friend, Albus, helped me keep it, I am very grateful for that."

"How are wands being made?" Madeline starts with her questions, "And what kind of wand will I get?"

"Oh, I can't tell you a lot about it, all I know is that there are no same wands! They can be made from the same materials, but again, no two wands are the same," Newt starts walking towards the Ollivander shop, taking Madeline with himself, "The wand chooses its wizard, so here, darling, I can't tell you the right answer, but believe, your wand is going to be incredible!"

The more people they passed, the more shops caught Madelines' eye, the closer they got. Newt was still holding Madeline's hand and she was still looking around. She has seen places like this before, in New York or right here, in London. But none fascinated her like Diagon Alley.

In the speed of a Maddy's blink, they were inside the Ollivander's wand shop. A young wizard has just bought a wand. He smiled at Newt and left. There stood Gervaise Ollivander, and his just starting to learn son, Garrick Ollivander.

"Newt Scamander! Aren't my eyes lying!" Gervaise opened his arms widely. Newt released Madeline's hand and walked up to the man for a greet. Madeline's jaw was open and eyes unable to shut. The store was filled with wands from top to bottom. Different boxes, different names, different sections and ladders everywhere.

"Yes! She's starting this year," Newt talks proudly to Gervaise. Garrick just stands there and smiles, not wanting to interrupt.

After a few minutes of chatting, Gervaise finally turns to Madeline.

"So, are you ready to find The wand?" He grins.

"Very!" She immediately walks over to the reception table.
