CHAPTER 4: Her First Day

T H I R D P E R S O N

Late nagising si Kate at Aloona on their first day of the week. Mainly because napuyat sila dahil sa kakakain ng cookies, nanood ng movies na dala ni Kate from the normal world and talked to get to know each other.

"Kate! Gising na diyan! Malelate na tayo!" Sigaw ni Aloona.

"What!? Anong oras na ba?" Tanong ni Kate.

"It is already 7:30am! And our first subject starts in an hour!" Sabi ni Aloona. "We're classmates." Dugtong nito.

Kate snapped back in reality thinking it was only 5:30 in the morning because of the dimmed light sa loob ng kwarto nila. Nagmadaling kumilos si Kate at nagpalit ng unifrom habang si Aloona naman ay inilalagay na sa desk ni Kate ang mga librong dapat dalhin.

"It's good na kahit papano eh mabilis ka kumilos. Ako kasi mabagal, like I have to dry my hair pa tapos put something on my face to prevent the oily look on my face." Sabi ni Aloona habang naglalakad sila sa hallway.

Aloona was explaining all the rules and regulations of the Academy until they stopped in front of the door. "Are you ready?" Tanong ni Aloona.

"I guess?" Sagot ni Kate.

K A T E

Binuksan ni Aloona ang pinto ng magiging classroom ko starting today. I was not expecting the room. It only looks like a normal classroom. Students are throwing paper anywhere or to a classmate, some are just reading books and some are just talking. Hanggang sa makarating kami ni Aloona sa dalawang bakanteng upuan.

"Bago ka?" Tanong ng isang babaeng itim na itim ang mata at weird is that may buntot siya.

"Ah eh, oo." Sagot ko.

"Hi! I'm Ashley Night. I have a charm of night vision." Sabi nito.

"Parang x-ray?" Tanong ko. She looked at me with wondering eyes. Don't tell me you don't know what's an x-ray means?

"What's an x-ray?" Tanong ni Ashley?

"Ash, this is Kate Forester. She came from the normal world. X-ray ay parang night vision mo. Here take a look at this." Sabi ni Aloona. She showed a book from the normal world about x-rays in order for Ashley to understand kung ano yon.

"Ah okay. But wait, Aloona. Did you just say, Forester?!" Napasigaw na tanong ni Ashley.

"Yup. She's the daughter of the legendary couple." Sagot ni Aloona with a smile on her face. She's bragging about me.

"Woah! Amazing!" Sabi ni Ashley.

Nagtanong din ako bakit siya may buntot and she mentioned that she can turn into an animal that has a tail. Kaya pala ang sabi ni Aloona mas malakas ang charm ni Ashley pag gabi. Isa isa nang nagbalikan ang mga tao sa kani-kanilang seats.

"Good morning, class." Sabi ni Sir Leon.

"Good morning Sir!" Sigaw namin.

"I think we have a new student here, care to introduce yourself?" Tanong nito. Then he winked at me. That gave me redness all over my face.

Tumayo ako mula sa seat ko, humarap sa klase but before speaking I breathe in and breathe out.

"Hi. I-I'm Kate Forester. P-Please take care of me." What? Take care of me? This is the only and first time na nautal ako, at hindi alam ang sasabihin.
