We May Be Alone. But We Are Still Together

Chapter One

As the boy from the other team ran towards the goalposts with the soccer ball and kicked it, hard, the Saint Marie's goalkeeper jumped to the left side of the goalposts and the soccer ball hit his chest and he fell to the ground, blocking the ball.
The referee blew his whistle, ending the game.
The Saint Marie's team had won the game.
As the soccer players walked off the field into the changing rooms, after celebrating, and the cheerleaders headed off too. Scarrlett Quinn and Cora Ryan stepped down from the middle of the cheerleading pyramid and walked into the changing rooms. They walked over to their bags and began to change. (A/N: they are all girls and they are wearing underwear so don't worry)
"Ugh!" Scarrlett exclaimed suddenly while looking through her bag.
"You okay?" Cora tilted her head looking up at the younger, but slightly taller, girl.
"I took the wrong bag!" Scarrlett whined. "This one is my mom's emergency bag."
(More A/Ns: were I live we use English schools but I do call my parents mom and dad so sorry)
"What's in it?" Asked a curious Cora.
"Um bandages, medication, pain relief, disinfectant, that kind of stuff. Why?"
Cora shrugged as she changed into her blue dungarees dress and a white jumper with blue converse and white tights.
"Your going to have to stay in the cheerleading dress. I do have a cardigan and some extra tights if you want them. She handed them over to the brown eyed girl as she began brushing her curled hair out and tried to straighten it.
She saw the worried look on her best friend's face and said,
"Hey it can't be that bad! It's only gonna be the bus trip and then after the hike we get to change into our suitcase clothes for the campfire stories!"
Scarrlett scowled.
"It's not just a bus trip and hike. It's a bus trip and hike with Cole." She blushed lightly as she said this.
Cora wiggled her eyebrows and then her face scrunched up in pain as the hairbrush got stuck in her hair.
When she got the hairbrush out she replied.
"You are a strange one Scar." She used the nickname that Scarrlett hated. "As well as that I think you forget that Cole is my twin sometimes." Her face then lit up. "Can I Be the maid of honour!?"
Scarrlett blushes slightly more at this question but then sassily replied, "only if I can be the maid of honour to you and John's wedding!"
Cora blushed but then exclaimed,
"I already told you I don't like John!"
"But whenever I asked which one you preferred you said John."
"That is because I can't say Cole! He's my brother! It would be weird to marry him!"
"Well he has a massive crush on you. He's all like, 'Oh Cora, I love you so much'" Scarrlett replied making kissy faces.
Cora rolled her eyes, "Anyway back to subject. I can reassure you that his is way worse than yours."
Scarrlett tilted her head, confused.
"My mom decided to be sickly sweet and dress me and Cole in matching clothes. He gets to dungarees and I get the dungaree dress. It's the most sickly thing."
Scarrlett slapped her hand against her mouth, stifling a laugh.
"Well I think it's adorable."
Cora rolled her eyes and then handed Scarrlett the hairbrush.
"Hurry and brush that mess." Cora ordered, pointing at Scarrlett's messy hair.
Scarrlett took the hairbrush and nodded,
"Yes mom." She teased.

John was waiting outside the boys changing rooms for Cole to come out.
Out of the whole friend group, he was the one who didn't participate.
Cole was the second to last player to walk from the changing rooms. He saw John and immediately jogged over to him.
"Faster." John shouted at him, and Cole began to run.
When he came and stood beside John, John started,
"Well you took your-," he was cut off.
"Sorry, one of the guys just hid my bag."
"Well at least you were quicker than the girls."
Cole looked at him. "I think you spoke too soon."
"Hi guys!" Scarrlett squealed and ran over to the boys, dragging Cora with her.
John raised his eyebrows at the girl.
"Rocking the outfit."
Scarrlett's face fell but quickly brightened again. "Why thank you!" She sassily replied.
Cole looked at Cora. "Twinning!"
She looked back at him and mocked, "Yay! Twinning!"
Cora looked at John's jumper, which had a cartoon train on it.
"Nice jumper." She wondered if he realised he was thirteen.
"Hey! Jessie chose it!"
"Ohhhh. You just stooped waaaay low. Blame it on the six year old." She raised her eyebrows.
(A/N: But he is Johnathan brown. And he likes steam trains.
Scarrlett: I like singing.
Cora: I like dancing
John: I like trains
*train comes racing along with Cole's face on it and kills everyone*
I'm sorry)
John rolled his eyes.
"If you keep rolling your eyes, maybe you will find a brain back there." Cole said
"I think that is very unlikely." He replied, meaning it was unlikely that his eyes would roll back that far.
"Yeah I don't think you will find a brain, maybe just emptiness." Cole continued.
"Oooooh burn!" Scarrlett laughed.
"Guys we have to get to the bus!" Kohn and Cora exclaimed. As Cora grabbed Scarrlett's wrist and John grabbed Cole's.
They ran along and reached the bus just before it left.
They stumbled to an empty four seater and fell down into it.
(A/N: in case you don't know, a four seater is where, on a bus, there are four seats sitting opposite to each other. Two on one side two on the other. Sort of like a train but without a table in between.)
They quickly put on their seatbelts and began to talk. Somehow they got onto the subject of truth or dare.
Scarrlett suggested it, and no one objected. They played this all the time at sleepovers and party's and just when they were bored.
"John! Truth or dare."
"Um dare?"
Scarrlett thought of a very good one, including Cora and John, but decided to keep that to later, when they weren't surrounded by people.
"I dare you to um... try and kidnap Cole. Like roleplay. Cole you have to try and break free. John grabbed Cole and put his hand over Cole's mouth, trying to muffle the sound.
That didn't last long however, for Cole quickly licked Johns hand and John pulled it away in disgust.
Scarrlett laughed.
"Okay John! Your turn!"
