the wolf children : Ame and Yuki chapter eleven

Me and Ame were slowly finding our place. Because my mom was curious on how wolves become adults, she started doing wilderness studies to help Ame. Ame started coming with mom to work, he was just fasinated by the wild. Maybe we were too stupid to actually pay closer attention to this.

Soon it was time for Ame to go to school. I walked him to the bus stop and taught him the good luck charm " cross your heart like this and say ; I'm gonna be a little boy, all the way home..." he didn't repeat " Hey are you listening?!" He started to walk towards the road that leads up to the mountains. But i pulled him back wondering why he'd done this.

When we got there i was in second grade while he was in first. Sadly i don't think Ame liked school...he was bullied alot because he was frail. Of course i tried to protect him like a big sister should but i didn't try to ask him how he felt. It started in the fourth grade where he just skipped altogether. I thought this was strange but i was occupide by many things.

A new transfer student had arrived. His name was Souhei and that he was from America  and was going to live with his mom in Japan. Because he was foreign, everyone was super excited. I was too of course. But on the day he arrived he walked up to me and asked " hey Yuki, do you have a dog?" this sounded strange to ask " no, why would you ask?" " because you kinda smell like you would..." I got up with my head down " Not that I mean it in a bad way!-"  " I know...I just need to go...wash up" I walked to the bathroom discouraged. I knew why he'd asked, it was because i was half wolf and i couldn't get rid of a wolf's natural scent...I knew that...but it bothered me still...For two years i'd never transformed into a wolf...I even kind of forgot i was one too, but that was my grim reminder. I came back to the class without saying a word...I sat far away from Souhei too. But he relized and tried to ask me something. I went to the bathroom. I was on cleaning duty so he tried to ask me again while i was sweeping. I avoided him again by running down the steps, by this point i was extreamly agitated and was trying to not transform. " I'm gonna be a little girl all the way home " I said  " Hey , Yuki wait up!" He called. I kept trying to run, i also repeated the good luck charm "I'm gonna be a little girl all the way home!" But by then he had back me into a corner, i was on the edge. " Yuki just let me ask you something!" I pushed him away " Get away!" He grabbed my hands " Yuki! What's gotten into you?!" I couldn't hold back and more. With one quick swipe i scratched his ear and saw blood.
