Not fast enough
Not strong enough
Not stable enoughThose were the thoughts going through Kara's head as she sobbed into her blanket.
A school bus fell down a ravine earlier today on the way back from a field trip. She heard it fall and flew quickly to the destination but by the time she got there, it was too late. She got most of the children out of the bus and placed them on the road, two at a time. One child obviously didn't make the fall. Kara tried so hard to make the tears in her eyes unnoticeable to the other children but a couple spilled over. When she was finished with the children, she picked the bus up and placed that on the road too for the authorities to dispose of.
Feeling terrible with a broken heart, she took the rest of the day off and flew home.
When she landed in her living room, she barely had any strength to change into her normal clothes. She only just managed to super speed her way out of her tight outfit and into her comfy laying-around-the-house clothes. At this sudden rush she started to feel dizzy. Suddenly she became all too aware of the noises going on around her, the buzzing of the fridge, the noises of the pipes, the daily cars outside. She felt even worse, trying to step one foot in front of the other seemed impossible. Slowly, carefully moving towards the couch, she picked up one of her heavy weighted blankets and snuggled into it, where she started crying.
Kara's POV:
You are useless
You are worthless
You don't deserve the people who rely on you
You don't do anything
You couldn't even save one kidMy brain was continually putting me down, making me think I'm a terrible person. Which I am but its bad enough I already know, without being told it every single day.
This blanket was the only things keeping me stable these days.
*knock knock*
"Who is it?" I mumbled, tryng to compose myself.
"Its Alex!" She yelled back, opening the door.
Well this blanket and my sister.
Frantically wiping my eyes, I did my best I'm Really Happy smile. I don't think I fooled her though as she was glancing at me suspiciously.
"Were you crying?" She enquired, tilting her head to the side, as if analysing me.
"Of course not!" I scoffed, hoping she wouldn't ask further questions.
She walked over to me with her hand out, I flinched automatically, causing a flash of concern over her face which in an instant was masked by curiosity.
She brushed the corner of my eye with her hand, and just looked at me when her fingers came back wet."Okay, I'm going to ignore the fact that you lied to me because I'm concerned for you" she said gently, sitting down on the sofa next to me.
"Fine, I was crying. Is that what you want me to say?" I announced, standing up.
Dizziness came over me again and I stumbled, only just catching myself on the side of the couch. I stood there for a moment, to stop the spinning before I attempted to move again which I did successfully. I moved slowly to the sink where I got a glass of water.
The whole time, I avoided my sister watching me like a hawk, ready to pounce when I stumbled again.
It happened quickly, I blacked out for a second, causing me to fall to the floor. The glass smashed on the hard surface and glass went everywhere. Hearing Alex jump, I quickly gathered the splinters in a pile, stood up carefully and pretended like I hadn't just fallen on my knees."What is wrong, Kara?!" Alex almost shouted, running to support me under the arm to the couch again.
"Nothing is wrong, Alex, i just got dizzy, that's all" I persuaded.
