Chapter three: I want to become Alpha

Jack and Emma are in their wolf form walking down the hill heading to the village. Emma is skipping along and has a idea to play a game. She pounce on her uncle's back and hop off saying, "Tag you're it!" 

"Emma, I'm not playing tag." 

"Why not? It's fun. We can see who can be the best predator." 

"No, Emma." 

Emma has her tail up, with her tongue sticking out. Her ears stick up. She hop left and right wanting to play. Jack looks at her and shake his head. 

"No." 

"Come on, uncle Jack! I didn't go out for the morning run with dad. Let's play." 

"Your mother will have my tail if you aren't at school." 

"It's too early. School won't start till the birds starts chirping."

Jack sighs, "Isn't this your first day?" 

"Yeah, so?" 

"Shouldn't you be excited? You going to meet pups at your age that you can play with." 

Emma put her tongue out, "don't wanna." 

"Are you scared that they might be better than you being a wolf?" 

"Ha! In your dreams uncle! I'm going to become Alpha one day." 

"What?" Jack said with eyes widened. "Alpha?" 

"Yup! I can fight outsiders from the village!" Emma said baring her teeth and growl. 

"Emma, you can't become an alpha." 

"Yes, I can! My father is a alpha and can be pass down. Clara can't do it so I can." 

"That's not the problem. Only male wolves can become alphas. Female cannot." 

Emma bark, "Then, I'll be the first female Alpha." 

Jack shakes his head, "This is the wolves tradition. Males are the dominant to take the role of alpha. if your parents have a son, he will be alpha. As for daughter, they will be wed to male wolves from another clan." 

"NO! The tradition should be change! I want to become Alpha! I'm his daughter. I shouldn't be married to some clan!"

Emma scamper away into the forest.

"EMMA!" Jack call out to her.

Emma ran through the forest evading the trees and trying to find her own sense of direction of where she's running to.
