It was simple enough. New school year meant new kids and new kids meant fresh meat for the bullies. You know full well how notorious my school was back then, until they came along.
First there was Olivia, the hot Spanish one. All the guys expectedly flock to her but she was unexpectedly strong, almost as if she ate 'roids daily. Even odder was the fact that she didn't look like she had muscle. She was sexy but that's it. There was no clear indication of where her strength came from. And she made a lot of guys come. . .
The next one is Trixie, the adorable one. Don't let her looks fool you as her hands are quicker than the eye can see. She's responsible for at least 90% of all thefts, break-ins, pickpocketing, etc. in the school but no one could really pin her down because she was never caught in the act. Well, except for that one time but I'll get there when I get there. Anyway, she's also popular with the guys because she's cute and Asian but didn't give off the vibes Olivia does. In fact, she treats Olivia like her big sister. And Olivia. . . well, let's just say gentle femdom is her thing. One of them, at least.
Paul Jones-Bankstown is arguably the best of the worst in the most obvious ways possible. He's smart, silver-tongued, and suave. And he uses that to manipulate people to suit his needs. It's believed that he is the backbone of the group as he always covers for any slip-up that the group comes across. Opposite of Olivia, girls flock to him like crazy and bled them just as dry. Odd that he supposedly never tapped Olivia.
Lastly is Miguel, the enigma. No one was ever really sure what he thought or what he would do, except for his pals. He mostly keeps to himself when he's alone and doesn't really do anything too interesting despite looking like a nerd/geek with glasses and all. Just. . . don't make fun of his pink bag. Or even take it from him.
Billy found that out the hard way. He went up to where Miguel and his crew sat and greeted them as bullies do: sheer intimidation. They didn't react and this pissed Billy off. However, he caught that Miguel clutched his bag rather tightly and Billy tried to take it from him. There was a brief struggle but Billy eventually won and ran away. Once the bag went missing, nothing happened at first. It wasn't until two days later that one of Billy's goons didn't show up at school. They found out over the weekend that he was brutally stabbed in the stomach and has been put in a coma due to multiple strikes to the head. The worst part? No one knew who did it.
But it didn't stop there. After that, two more students ended up in hospital. One was a victim of near-fatal food poisoning and the other collided with an armored truck of all things. Billy was scared shitless by this point as rumors began to spread that Miguel knew black magic and cursed Billy and his gang. He left the bag near the tree Miguel frequents during break periods on Tuesdays and Thursdays. To be honest, I still don't know why Miguel had such OCD tendencies.
He took the bag wordlessly as his pals looked on. Then they treated it like nothing happened. But that was only the beginning. It started when Billy was taking a piss when the urinal's pipe suddenly burst, soaking the guy. The next event was him seeing his shoes were messed up royally. Well, he didn't find that out until he wore them and was immediately stung by a family of scorpions that was put inside. He was absent for a week after that. The last straw was when it was revealed that he was the son of a former male porn star with a history of prostitution. In case you don't read the papers, he committed suicide afterwards. After that, the school pretty much stayed away from the four for about two weeks before everything normalized again. You know how high school is. In fact, I talked to them once it did.
I was tasked with collecting the fees the school requires us to pay for the upcoming field trip. I approached Olivia first since it was obvious she was the bodyguard of the troupe. She let me through after feeling me up. She. . . wasn't impressed.
Trixie didn't really give me any attention as she was fiddling about with a ruler and a pencil. Paul was nice enough to wave at me. Miguel greeted me and asked what I was here for. I was asking if they had already contributed for the field trip. He fixes his specs and apologizes, saying he has forgotten that they should. He simply looks at Paul and the rest start searching for their respective wallets/coin purses. They all gave more than what was required, with Miguel saying "Trust me, we'll need it." I managed to get a good look at his eyes at that moment. They were. . . hauntingly empty. Almost hollow. I wasn't able to sleep properly that night.
. . . can we stop here? My head stings. . .
