Rumpelstiltskin knew that company would be coming.  Maggy blabbing at school a would for sure attract some attention and bring unwanted guests.  He wanted to leave but Maggy kept holding him back.  He spent 15 years raising that little brat but all those years had created a soft spot in his heart.  And to see her crying like she did made him feel even worse.

He turned to see the door was now turned to gold.  It was so pure that it could have glowed in the dark.  He placed his hand on the door and swallowed a lump in his throat.  He wanted to go in there and take her away.  Some where where they were isolated from everyone and make things right.  But this time he had gone to far.  And he had warned her about this.  She may have not known it but all this time he was trying to protect her from this sort of thing happening.  He snarled.

Then a loud thud from upstairs scattered his thoughts.  "Do you always make those kind of entrances?"  A girl asked.  There was no response as footsteps started to creek along the old boards.  They wondered around for a little bit  when they stopped at the door that lead down to where he was standing.  "For the record, this is one place where ladies do NOT  go first."  The girl said.  Stilt mocked her and rolled his eyes.  This girl was annoying.  He almost felt bad for the man who was traveling with her.

"Keep the door open it's pretty dark down here."  The man said.  "Actually it might be better if you stayed up here."

 "Alone?!"  The girl blurted.

"SSSHHHH! Yes alone."  The boy whispered harshly.  "If  they left and decided to come back I want an alarm system."

"How gentle man like for you to say that."

The man didn't respond, then foot steps started to decend down the stairs.  Rumpelstiltskin turned and quickly opened the golden door.  Maggy froze as she watched him hide himself behind the door.  She looked at the door with curiousty.

The feet on the stairs decended slowly and causiously.  Rumpelstiltskin waited eagerly yet patiently with a  chain hanging limply from his hands.  He had picked it up from the corner next to him where a pile of useless chains laid.

"Maggy, are you alright?!"  The man suddenly imerged into the room.  Maggy started to make noises as she  struggled frantically against her golden bonds.  She was trying to warn him but the poor lad was to dumb to figure out what was going on.  Rumpelstiltksin took this situation to his advantage and made his move.  He jumped out of his hiding spot and threw the chain about the man's neck.  The man jerked out of instinct and fired his gun.  The bullet hit the golden cieling only to only fall to the floor with a loud clink.

"Drop the gun."  Rumpelstiltskin groweled in the man's ear.  The man obeyed.  Rumpelstiltskin smiled untill he heard the girl run out the door.  He heard he man sigh in relief.  He growled, picked up the pile of chains and pushed the man foward.

There was only one set of shackles that was attatched to the wall, but this being a dungeon had plenty of loops for chains to go through.  He shook a pair of shackles from the tangled chains looped it through a holder above the man's head and locked the man's wrists.  He shackled the man's ankels to the wall then grabbed a chain and snaked it about the man's body like a ribbon and stretched it to the closest loops.  When he was done the man looked like he was caught in a silver spider web.  The web was tangled in awkward designs from the neck down making it almost impossible for the man to move.

All this time the man studied him.  The man knew who he was it just didn't register yet.  Rumpelstiltkin smiled, patted the man on the cheek and moved over to Maggy.  "I'm going to use this."  He said as the broke the golden gag that was tied about her head.  The material instantly turned back to cloth.

Maggy forced the heavy gold out of her mouth and let it fall to the floor.  "Leave him alone."  She said sharply.  Her father turned to her in surprise.

"What did you say?"

"You heard me, leave him alone."

Rumpelstiltskin looked at her for a moment, then looked at the man, then back to her.  He laughed as he looked back at the man.  "Can you believe this?  She brought all this on herself, me, and you, and she expects me to ignore the conciquences!  What a smart girl I have raised.  I almost want to give her a golden star."  He laughed again and gagged the man.  He moved his way back over to Maggy and picked up the gold piece, which once again turned back to cloth.

"Please, don't do this."  Maggy pleaded.  Her father's eyes softened.

"You know, your mother said those exact words when she gave you up.  She begged me and begged me to give you back to her.  But it was already to late.  Just like you are."

Maggy dropped her head in defeat.  Her father placed his hand under her chin and forced her to look him in the eye.  "You look just like her, and you are as foolish as she was."  With that he gagged her once more and left the room.
