*A week after Layla went to the therapist*
"Are they back?"
"Zayn, they never left. I haven't been able to sleep in almost two months."
"I know. I just thought the medication might need time to ya know, kick in"
I buried my head in his bare chest, and he wrapped his tattooed arms around me. Having him hold me took the stress and anxiety away, but the dreams still came almost every night. The online schooling was helpful though. Even if there were only two months left of junior year for everyone else, it seemed like Zayn and I would never be done with it. It seemed like ever since Halloween, both of our lives had been put on hold, and in all reality it really was not fun.
"Maybe we should get out of the house. Maybe you could call Ad... Your mom"
My heart almost broke. Not only did I not have Addy anymore, but I haven't seen or talked to my mom in about 3 weeks. As for her and my dad, I heard the divorce paperwork was being finalized. That didn't bother me too much, since me and my dad never have gotten along. He was always the pushy kind, and I'll never forget the time I saw him hit my mom. I tried to stick up for her, so I punched him in the jaw. He turned around and slapped me, and I had a mark for about a week. Ever since then I have wished nothing but for him to rot in hell where he belongs.
"Yeah. Maybe we could all go out or something. You should invite your mom too, I'm sure our parents would love to chat."
"Yeah. That sounds good."
We crawled out of bed, and both called our mothers. Zayn's mom was very sweet and caring. She also is gorgeous, that must be where her son gets it from.
"Hey mom"
"Hey Layla, how have you been? How's Zayn?"
"We're both good. Would you be up for lunch with Zayn's mom and us?"
"That sounds great! What time should I meet you? And where?"
"Probably around 12:20? And we were planing on going to that little Mexican restaurant we use to go to"
"Sounds good. I love you"
"Love you too mom"
When I got off the phone, Zayn was exchanging "I love you's" with his mom. I looked at the time and it was already 10:30.
"Dang! Where has this day gone?!"
Zayn chuckled as I ran to the room to grab clothes. I grabbed a pair of skinny jeans, and a plain blue shirt. I threw on my clothes, and began doing my makeup. A little eyeliner, some eyeshadow, and my favorite mascara. I thought it looked nice, how it wasn't too light, but how I also didn't look like a clown. It didn't take Zayn nearly as long as me to get ready. He stuck to a pair of jeans, and a black button up shirt with his Vans. He ran his fingers through his hair, and called it good.
"So lemme get this straight. You spend about 45 minutes, maybe an hour on makeup and hair, just to have it ruined tonight?" He said with a wink
"And why will it be ruined tonight?"
"Um. Cause of the um shower?"
My cheeks flushed as I rolled my eyes.
"Sure. The shower. "
"Unless, you have something better in mind?"
"Nope. A shower sounds good"
We both laughed as I continued messing with my hair. I sighed at the frizzy mess, an decided it would be a ponytail-type of day. I grabbed my blue Converse and slipped them on. The time was now 11:15, so we still had a little time.
