To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.

Anotole France,

"Fatality!" the game chimes, as she looks at the screen with a blank stare. Her green eyes look up at the Snow which was falling on the grass as she sat on a bench by the cafeteria window. Her long black hair tousled in the slight breeze. People pass by her nervously, she hides a handheld from the oncoming students. Her small frame adorned in a school uniform knee length pleated black skirt and white blouse barely visible below her big jacket. She was a mouse of a girl short and very thin olive skin tone and a fair complexion.

"Hey Miki, class is starting." a girl says as she grabs her by her arm hauling her out of her seat.

"Oh, I hate English" Miki groans, her friend pulls her down the hall.

"Come on, we have a substitute today." she says with a girly grin

"Why do we even have to learn English it's not like we are ever going to use it" Miki complains.

"Come on, you don't want to see England or America?" she asks. "If you ever go there you'll never understand anyone."

"I don't want to go to America or England, why would I want to Aiko?" Miki snaps.

"Why not? I want to see Hollywood or London, hell, i want to live there." Aiko says with a dreamy smile.

Ignoring her friends happy attitude she walks into class sliding the door and walking in. Other students were sitting in the class a few were talking quietly among the small groups. The white board has a new name written in English on it " Mr. Anderson".

"Oh, cool an English name!" Aiko announced upon reading the board "Anderson bet he is American" she says with delight.

" whatever" Miki replies

After a few moments the door slides open the students greet the new substitute showing proper respect.

"Hello class, my name is Mr. Anderson I will be with you for a few months, possibly longer. It seems your teacher is on leave for personal reasons I am unsure when he will return. Please, lets go around the class and make some introductions. Let's start over on this side of the room." he says pointing the seat closest the door. A nervous young man stands bows states his name. The flow continues down one isle and up another until all the students were accounted for. Miki barely made any effort and roughly stared out of the window most of class irritated at the other girls swooning over the foreign teacher.

" What's the big deal, after all he is the same as any other man just different accent and skin tone." Miki thought. She took one more glance around the room before leaving, spotting a bunch of students including her friend Aiko over by the teacher. Obviously flirting with the foreigner. Miki continued on her way leaving the class and her friend behind. School was out now, Miki was deep in thought deciding which of her classic fighting games to play when she got home. No one would be there when she got home. She had an older brother that came and went at all hours, her parents didn't seem to mind anything that went on in the house, as long as the two kept out of trouble. Miki lived in a small part of the upper middle class area most people there had jobs that require a lot of traveling her parents were no exception to this. Her dad had some high up position in a computer component company she never really thought to ask about it, and her mom worked at the same company in marketing. They pretty much did everything together almost as if they were joined together. Miki's brother was kind of different they used to be very close when they were younger almost like twins even if they were four years apart in age. Miki thought about how they used to be close every now and again, she simply didn't understand what had happened to their relationship, her brother and her used to be inseparable. He was the reason she loved the games as much as she did. she was always playing classic Street Fighter, Tekken, or Mortal Kombat. When they were younger they played for hours Miki's brother found their dad's old collection of systems, together they convinced him to let them play with them, eventually he just gave the systems and the games to them. Since then Miki couldn't put them down, at first she never beat her brother but, after a while though she couldn't lose unless she threw the game on purpose.
