After the Headmistress send the girls to receive their schedule's, Victor parting way with us. I was deep in thought of training Rose. Despite her wrongdoings taking the Princess out of safe environment and her lack of discipline I had hopes she would become the best guardian for the Princess. If of course I manage to train her and do my part as best as I possibly can. Which with her would be a challenge. The bond I witnessed between them was a game changer. But that bond is not enough. She must learn to follow orders and be more disciplined. I couldn't help but wonder what I've got myself into. I was waiting with Alberta outside the guidance counselor's office. Rose emerged out of the room with her schedule and a face that spoke loudly of how unpleased she was. Which made me slightly angry, doesn't she realize how lucky she is? Second chance of becoming a guardian is not enough? We silently escorted her to the gym, where all the novices of her age had their first period class. Walking ahead of her we entered the gym and all the sounds died down. All eyes were again on Rose, she returned them with scanning for what I managed is a friendly face. Founding what she looked for she smiled at a red-haired boy. The young Ashford, it took me a second to find a name to the face. "Hey Mason, wipe the drool off your face. If you're going to think about me naked, do it on your own time." Somehow her comment didn't surprise me at all. The red haired gave her a lazy loving smile. "This is my time, Hathaway. I'm leading today's session." Her smile brightened. "Oh yeah? Huh. Well I guess this is a good time to think about me naked then." Eddie Castile called from the back. "It's always a good time to think about you naked." As normal young students, you can't expect a different behavior. But never the less I shook my head as I walked away. Muttering to myself on my mother language God help me. Standing against the far wall in my guardian position I had eyes on everything happening. The young Ashford shrugged off a guardian who scowled him. And started his session with a grin. Apart from training Rosemarie I had my own responsibilities. As a guardian I was always on alert. Its my nature first, and then my dedication and responsibility. Paying attention on all that is happening around me I've learned to listen and when not to listen. I couldn't afford to get engage in a pointless remarks and conversations someone else is taking. That as unlikely as it was can distract me and that can lead me to miss early signs of attack. I knew Strigoi attack was highly unlikely to happen here with all the precautions and security measures the academy has, but never the less I had to be on top of my game always.
My next class to guard was Guardian Alto's class, even though I didn't like his teaching methods very much, I respected him enough as a guardian not to talk about it with him. As the novices filled in the room I saw Rosemarie was one of them. It figures. I knew Headmistress and Alberta didn't trust that Rosemarie wouldn't attempt again to escape. But did they really think I would be best able to stop her? My gut tells me if she put something in her mind to do it she would find away. And I'm not sure if I can stop her. My only hope is she wouldn't want to miss her second chance of becoming a guardian. Alto's eyes widened as he saw Rosemarie taking her seat. I had the urge to laugh. Why so surprised? He must of saw the email everyone received on the safe return of the Princess and of course Rose. He circled the room before walking to her desk and glaring at her. "What's this? No one told me we had a speaker here today. Rose Hathaway. What a privilege! How very generous of you to take the time out of your busy schedule to share your knowledge with us." Liar, was the only thing that came to mind. You got the memo. But humiliating his students was clearly on his agenda today. Especially miss Hathaway. For the first time I saw her face becoming red, I'm not sure with humiliation or rage. "Well, come on, come on. Don't sit there! Come up to the front so you can help me lecture the class." Rose sunk back down her seat, "You don't really mean..." Alto cut her off as his smile dried up into a straight line. "I mean exactly what I say, Hathaway. Go to the front of the class." Rose stood up with an attempt of some dignity, and in my book, she got it. Striding off to face the music. Tossing her long black hair over her shoulders she stared over her classmates, gazing over the whole room. Strangely I felt like a student for a moment, but at the same time I was curious to see how this show will unfold. "So, Hathaway. Enlighten us about your protective techniques." Shamefully my attention was already on what was happening inside the room and not so much on guarding the room and the students inside. I said a little prayer in Russian. I dearly hoped no Strigoi attacks would occur in this precise moment. "My...techniques?"
