living in the city has an advantage of being close to a plethora of stores. when i wanted chinese takeout i could walk a few blocks down from my apartment.
but in this case i was really craving ice cream. and so i walked my ass across the street to get myself some delicious frozen custard.
walking into the chilly store i felt the pit of awkwardness wash up onto my face as it was time to order. relatable or not it was pretty terrifying.
as i was looking through the glass, looking for a nice flavor to get when the door opened behind me. i took no mind of it as i spotted the perfect flavour.
"hello, may i have two scoops of (your favorite ice cream flavor) please?" the woman on the counter give me a small smile and began scooping the ice cream into a waffle cone.
all while i felt eyes on the back of my head. once the lady was done she ringed up my order at the cash register. "oops i accidentally scooped you 4 scoops in two cones. im sorry." the woman apologized.
i was extremely tempted to take the other cone for myself , but i decided to sort of do a nice deed. if you can call it that.
"oh no worries, i'll just pay for it and you can give to the next person in line. i just hope they also like (your favorite ice cream flavor)" i chuckled.
i paid for my ice cream and decided to eat it in the small shop. i took a seat and cherished the delicious desert, when the lady behind the counter came up to me with a drink in her hand.
"oh i didn't order a drink." i smiled at her. "i know. but the girl over there sent this over thanking you for the free ice cream." the lady said, walking away.
curiosity filled my face as i lock eyes with the stranger , who's ice cream i just payed for. my eyes almost left my sockets as i eyed the beautiful girl, who was eyeing me back, staring eye to eye, licking the ice cream.

i was paralyzed as she walked up to me with a smile on her face. "you're lucky i like (your favorite ice cream flavor)" she winked.
