when camila gets upset she gets quiet. she wants to be shielded away from the world and never come out of that slump. i tried to do anything possible to cheer her up, but i wasn't getting her to at least crack a smile.
she wasn't upset at me thank god. she was just home sick. she wanted to spend a day with her family just how she used to. the car ride towards the studio was pretty silent. i decided to accompany her. i looked over and spot her staring out the car window.
"honey." i said , breaking the silence. she jumped a bit and turned her head at me, giving me a fake smile. "im sorry for startling you babe." i frowned. her face was filled with sadness. "did you want something love?" she croaked out. i shook my head, and inter winded my fingers with her own.

camila was in no mood to sing. that was rare and i knew that. i had to think of something and quick. camila sat in the booth just pondering about, waiting for her producer, when an idea popped into my brain. im really into toy story and always convinced camila to watch it me.
camila would agree of course because she's a literal sweetheart.
but she'd always tease me because i would try to hide myself singing along to the movie because i sing like literal shit. it would always make her laugh when she caught me singing to 'you've got a friend in me.' so it was worth a shot.
i connected my phone to the bluetooth and started to play the song. i glanced at camila, looking back at me with a confused smile on her face. i opened the door blocking her from hearing me. "you've got a girlfriend in me." i sang awfully, giving camila a goofy grin.
"some other folks might be a little bit smarter than i am bigger and stronger too, maybe but none of them will ever love you the way i do, it's me and you, girl"
the sound of camila's genuine laughter made me happy. beyond happy. ecstatic. my dumb ass started dancing around like an idiot as the song came to an end.
