Game of Zodiac

Prologue/Chapter 1

Aries P.O.V.

"Hey mom I'm going to try out the new game okay." I said running into my room.

"Alright dear but don't be to long, dinner will be ready in four hours, and you have to pick up your little brother in two." My mom answered.

"Alright." I closed the door and went to get the game gear. "Lets see. Insert the game into the game helmet, attach the sensor wires to the helmet, your arm, and your chest." I did as it instructed and then placed the game helmet on. I laid down in my bed and turned on the game. I felt a jolt and then what felt like I was being ripped from my body.

"Welcome to Saturnalia" A female computer voice said. "To continue please select a species role, and name." 

"Human and warrior and Aries." I said confidently, I had been thinking this over since I left the game store at least.

"Fine choice." The voice said. Suddenly my clothes vanished and were replaced by leather armor, a blue sword and a gray shield. "Let the game begin."  

There was a flash and then I was standing in the middle of a giant city square. Around me other new players were signing in, some human looking, others that looked like human snakes and spiders. Everyone seemed amazed and shocked by how real everything seemed, myself included.

I clenched my fingers as a test, and they moved just as my real ones do. "Amazing." I said. A giant blue hologram appeared in the center of the square of three men. On the left was a Arachnoid with a long staff,   a young dark haired human man on the right, and a gray beard human man in the center.

"Greetings players. I am Supreme Chancellor Jupiter I look forward to working with each and every one of you in all our future adventures. If you have any questions on how the game works, please ask nephew and Vice Chancellor Orion." Jupiter said smiling. "Now have fun in our new world!" And the hologram ended.

"Now what?" I wondered, a large ship suddenly landed right in front of me. The door of the ship opened and a girl stepped out.

"Need some help?" She asked.

"Uh sure." I said not understanding. The girl waved her arm for me to get in. "I'll give you a ride and we can talk." The girl said. I shrugged and got in.

The girl flicked a few switches and pulled the ship off the ground. She typed in a few coordinates and hit the auto pilot.

"So whats your name." The girl said laying back."

"I'm Aries, and you?" 

"My name is Scorpio, I'm a smuggler and a beta tester. Know how the game is played and thought I would give a few tips to a new player. You were the first person I saw." Scorpio said.

"Okay then, what is the purpose of the game, who is the enemy here? The game was not clear on that."

"Well apparently Chancellor Jupiter had an idea of constantly changing main threats, the starter game main threat is called the Cold Hearted Alliance. Who leads them is a mystery to everyone except the creators." Scorpio explained. "As for us I guess were just suppose to play to win here, you can do what ever you like, even attack other players."

"Really that's cool." I said my excitement rising.

"Yep, and there is no penalty,watch." Scorpio said pointing at another players ship, a small fighter. She flicked of the auto pilot and took the controls, she set her sights on the smaller ship and fired the turrents.

The energy blasts slammed into the smaller ship. It tried to take evasive actions but Scorpio changed her course and fired again, this time the ship instead of pulling up, it descended to the ground as it's engines stopped working.
