Wings they were beautiful every last piece working together to soar
Feathers soft and combed with great care gliding through the cool wind.
What was so memorizing about them?
Some people had wings, some didn't that's how it was.
It wasn't fair
Why did no one else? care
People like things to be put into simple boxes
Wings and no wings
Why did he have to be this?
He never got a choice
No one else seem to argue
He tried to jump off the playground to fly
They all yelled and scorned saying he was not a bird and he was not a winged one
He frown and cried he felt bad
He felt mad
He was a freak
He stayed up in his room away from the scorn and he drew wings
They were large and soft
Smooth and delicate
Strong and his
His wings
They starts out like any other and he drew them every where
People stared
He didn't care
They glared
He drew more wings
They began to change
They became more real
They began more metal
They became more possible
He locked himself in his room
People were sure he died and it was his new tomb
No one saw him, but people whispered
And talked
They judged and sneered
They said they saw him wearing wings
Fake wings
How horrific
Everyone agreed he was a bad influence
They all came and roared as they mobbed his home
Yelling curses and horrible things
Bang
They knocked down the door
No one was there
They hear a noise
A clank
And then their was a blank
Then another bang
It was from up stairs they ran up and there he stood with a smile
And he raise his arms proudly and there were wings
People looked in awe other in disgust
Of the copper metal created wings
So much detail and thought
People screamed
You can't fly
Their fake
You freak
And then he turned around to the window
And he jumped
Silence
And then a rush to the window to see if he flew
They paled there was a splattered person on the side walk
People called him crazy
Said he deserved it
But some cried
Some said he just wanted to be himself
He just wanted wings
Some saw the error in their way
funny how we all see that a bit to late
And one person smiled " he can fly" she whispered looking out to the sky
He was flying out there In the clouds
He had wings of gold. And a halo to match.
