Uprisen- A Divergent Story

Chapter One

Sage

"You okay?" my father asks me.

"I guess," I replied.

Today at school, we have to take our Aptitude Tests. They are supposed to tell us which faction we really belong to.

My current faction is Erudite. We Erudite are intelligent. But I'm not very intelligent. I never really even liked it here in Erudite. It's like I don't have any privacy, with all the buildings made of glass.

"Sage, come on! You're gonna be late for school! Don't wanna miss it!"

I run down the stairs after I put on my "glasses". In Erudite, we have to wear glasses, wether we need them or not.

When I get off the bus, my twin brother is already at the entrance to the school. He walks to school everyday, and he always beats me to the school

"Kade!" I yell to him. I start running towards him. When I get to him, he stops me.

"Sage, look!" He points towards a Dauntless girl getting off the trains. The Dauntless people are the brave ones. The girl has black hair with a light purple streak. I can see the beginning of a tattoo creep up her shoulder.

"What about her?" I point towards a girl in Amity. Amity people are very peaceful. This girl was beautiful. She had wavy brown hair pulled up in a ponytail. I catch a glimpse of her calm grey eyes catch mine, then she laughs and keeps moving with her friend.

"Psh. That Dauntless girl, perfection," my brother adds

I open my mouth to say something, but the bell cuts me off. Kaden and I run to our next class.

Nikki

I am so excited for today. In a matter of hours, I will find out which faction I really belong to. Honestly, I think I'd be Abnegation or Candor.

My friend, December Ryans, and I are walking towards the front door of the school building.

"So, Nikki, you see any cute boys in any faction? Never know who you'll meet," asks December

"Not really. But I know for sure I'm changing factions, I can't stand Amity," I reply. When I finish the sentence, I happen to look over to the Erudite section and see a cute boy look at me. He has shaggy black hair, and he has piercing sky blue eyes. "Except him," I say, after he looks away.

"Really, Nikki? Jonas? He's a total nerd," she says

"No, not him! His friend next to him!" I correct

"You mean the twins in Erudite?" she asks

"Yea." I see him look back over and wave," The one that is looking over here.

"Oh," she says, giving me a 'really?' look

"Shut up," I say, walking into the school.
