It’s been a week. One full week since she moved her meager belongings into the house, and Egypt was bored out of her mind. It was like she was sent back to the old English era or something. There were maids running the house, gardeners keeping the grounds kept, and a cook in the kitchen who wouldn’t even let her touch a spatula. God forbid should she actually try to make something to eat by herself.

Normally when she was at home she would read a nice long book or two, but in the past week she had reread every book she owned and honestly, she was all read out. It was getting ridiculous. So she decided to take a walk and explore the beautiful woods surrounding the house.

She found herself walking down a small slightly overgrown path.  It looked as thought maybe it had been forgotten by the caretakers of the gardens, but she loved the way it looked. There was a stone wall around her with ivy growing up the sides making it look old and abandoned. Perhaps she could use this area as her own personal garden. She did, after all, have a ton of free time on her hands these days. Just the thought of having this small thing to do made her smile.

She was making a list and plot in her head as to what flowers she wanted to buy, and how she would improve this area of the gardens, when got to feeling as though she were being watched. Don’t be silly, she thought, no one is around this area! And oh it was such a beautiful day! The sun was shining bright in the sky, with a breeze that made the hot day incredibly comfortable.

Egypt heard a crunching of leaves to her right and flung herself around to see the darkest black fur she had ever seen in her life on a wolf almost taller than she was, at her 5’7” height. In the back of her mind she knew she should be screaming, or running maybe? But not a sound escaped from her lips and instead of fleeing, she found her feet wanting to move toward the amazing beast ahead of her. But she resisted. They stood there staring at one another for a few moments, the wolf’s eyes looking at her with such knowledge, when finally he turned and walked away.

She stood there, lips parted in a gasp. Such a beautiful creature! And here in her woods! She would most definitely need to come walking more often, then perhaps she would catch a glimpse of this lovely creature once more.

She realized the time was getting late, so with a firm plan in mind for her lovely little garden, Egypt started back toward the house the opposite way she came, not knowing the exact way to go. But in her mind, the best way to get to know an area is just to get lost and find your way again.

After arriving back at the house a while later, she sat down to eat a delicious meal provided by the kitchen staff in the dining room all alone, Egypt found herself slowly walking to her room. Who would have thought taking a walk around the gardens would make her feel like she had dirt covering every inch of her body. With this in mind, she drew a bath, and soaked in the tub until her water ran cold.

Egypt shivered as she folded the towel around her and searched for decent pajamas to sleep in. Fannel was too hot for this time of year, she decided, going with a pair of stretch shorts and thin tank top.

Pulling back the covers in her huge king size bed, she hopped in and snuggled against her soft, obviously expensive pillow letting sleep claim her.

This was her life now, and she had absolutely no problem with it.
