She was walking thru her new garden with all the magnificent flowers she planted already in bloom, with a content smile upon her face. She hadn't felt this happy in years. Looking all around her she noticed the birds chirping in the trees, butterflies fluttering from blossom to blossom, and hummingbirds flitting past making her smile with delight. She looked down and ran her fingers thru the thick but still soft black fur of a magnificent beast. She spun around laughing and ran as the wolf teasingly chased her…

Egypt got out of bed with a bright smile. Today she would go into the town nearby and look for the tools she would need to get started on her garden project. A quick look at her phone told her the weather was supposed to be quite warm with a slight breeze again. Her favorite kind of weather! She would be able to wear her favorite tank top and blue jean shorts.

She hopped into her old beaten up Bronco truck with a bent in fender and rust spots, and headed on into the small town near her. This town was the kind that should have a sign as you’re coming into its borders saying, “Welcome! Please come again” it was so small. That would definitely fit. The only stop light they had was seemingly in the middle of nowhere, continually blinking.

It was about time she got out of the house and did some exploring other than around her gardens. This was just what she needed. She was lost in her thoughts when she spotted a small hardware store with a small nursery out front.

Parking her precious Bronco in the small, almost nonexistent parking lot out front, she unbuckled her seat belt and headed inside to look around and find all she would need. A bell sounded her arrival and an older man on wobbly legs came out to greet her.

“Hello there young lady, haven’t seen you ‘round these parts before.”

“No, sir, I suppose you haven’t, “ she chuckled. This man made her feel welcome and warm inside. He had the kind look and gentle nature she would think of a grandfather having. “I recently moved in a couple miles outside of town. I’m looking to start working on a flower garden today, as long as the weather stays nice.”

“Well you came to the right place. Let me show you where you need to go,” he smiled warmly at her.

She must have spent twenty minutes just standing there in front of the shovels, rakes and other tools, trying to decide which to buy. For a small town they sure had a nice wide selection.

“Is there something I can help you with, Miss?” A voice so warm yet strong asked. The sound of it sent shivers of delight up her spine. She was almost scared to turn around and see the face that it belonged to. But turn she did.

He looked to be about 30 years old with dark black hair, long and wild around his face just begging her to reach up and tame it with her fingers. He had bright blue gray eyes that made you think they were reading into your soul, and his nose looked as though it had been broken in the past, at least once, but had not been set quite properly before it healed, as it was not strait. Oh and those lips, that were currently in a teasing smile as they looked at Egypt, she could only imagine how it would feel to have them against her own…

Woah, wait just one minute! she thought to herself. Where did those thoughts come from? Egypt was not the type of woman to get lost in a cute mans eyes. She would not start now! She could feel her face heat in a blush as she looked at him again, and his smile broadened. Oh, he had caught her staring alright. Ugh,  she thought, just great!

I’m just having a little trouble deciding which of these, um” she stammered, “ tools would be best for starting my garden.”

“Well, what exactly is it you are planning to do? Maybe I can help you to decide.” He smiled at her again and yet another blush blossomed on her cheeks.

After describing what all she needed to do, he helped her pick out the correct tools needed and brought her to the front of the store for checkout, where the older man from before stood waiting. After paying, the older man offered to help load everything into her truck but before she could decline, the mysterious man with dark hair grabbed her items and started out the door.

“Thank you, but it looks as though I already have another helper, “ she winked at the older man.

He laughed, “Name’s Jimmy. Have a blessed day then, young lady.”

“Nice to meet you Jimmy. See you around.”

Her mysterious, handsome stranger put everything into the back of her Bronco, and after making sure everything was secure, he came around to the driver side and opened the door for her. “Thank you Sir, for your help today. I’m sure I would still be in there staring like an idiot if you hadn’t come around!”

“Its Jonathon, but you can call me Jonny. And you are very welcome.” He flashed another heart stopping grin her way, and she almost melted.

“I’m Egypt,” she said as he took her hand, placing a chaste kiss on her knuckles. “See you around, Jonny.”

As she started home, she glanced in the rear view mirror and saw a pair of beautiful gray eyes staring after her.
