I was starting to feel out of place at  the job. We all know Kayla is mean as hell and all the co-workers love her. When I walk in there it's crickets, only person that be talking to me is Kayla.

" Kayla why all the girls don't like me" I said as we were bussing tables.

" cause the manager said that you was the best worker here and for everybody else to be like you" She said.

" don't worry bout them Shay they just some jealous ass bitches that fuck him and he still think you better" She said finishing up our last table.

"Shana and Kayla, can you work a double shift tomorrow" Darrell the manager said. He was a tall dark dude, this was his fathers diners back in the day, so he decided to keep it. He was hella fine but was in his 30's so I had to fall back. I think he had a crush on Kayla. She to about her money to notice.

" we can't Mr. Cooper we have school, and finals are coming up soon" I said. As the other girls walked from the back.

" I can boss man" Karen said. She was cool she went with the flow of anything, short as hell to and she was Mexican.

" Alright thanks Karen" Mr. Cooper said going back into his office. Me and Kayla walked to the back grabbed our stuff and headed out. We were walking when we hear some dude.

" Aye shawty" this tall ass light skinned dude said.

" First off her name ain't shawty and have some respect when you talking to her" Kayla said. That one of her biggest pet peeve's when a dude address her as shawty or ma when she got a name.

" Damn you fat bitch nobody was talking to yo fat ass" He said.

" who the hell do you think you are talking to her like that with yo ugly small dick ass" I said to him. Kayla was already putting her hair in a bun. I know Kayla she is sensitive about her weight even if guys like it she just back and forth with it. Before I knew it Kayla swung and knocked his ass out.

" aye lil mama get off my dude". Another light skinned dude said as he grabbed Kayla by her arm. Kayla swung at him and they was going at it. I took it amongst myself to get on top of ole dude and beat his ass. I got off him when I heard Kayla scream.

" GET YOUR HANDS OFF ME" Kayla screamed. There was a tall muscular Black dude holding her by her waist.

" get your hands off her" I said to him.

" alright calm down, I was just tryna stop her lil short ass from killing my nigga" The man said letting Kayla go. Kayla glared at him and he just chuckled, then his face got serious.

" did he do that to your face" He said pointing at the second light skinned boy.Kayla just nodded she had a busted lip. The chocolate black man pulled a gun out.

" JACE man I'm sorry she was beating Mac ass" The second light skinned boy said.

Me and Kayla grabbed our stuff and ran. We ran into the house without looking back.

" omg SHANA what happened" Ivory screamed as we walked through the door. Kayla started to tell her as I just walked to the room to the shower.

" Shay are you ok" Kayla said as I got out the shower and grabbed a towel.

" well we just saw a dude get shot I'm not the best right now " I said going into the closet. The was a bang on the door. When we came out of Kayla's room. Me and Kayla looked at each other. Ivory looked at us and we just stood there looking at each other.
