Christmas was coming. One morning in mid-December, Hogwarts woke to find itself covered in several feet of snow. No one could wait for the holidays to start. The Slytherin common room and the Great Hall had become icy and there was a bitter wind rattled the windows in the classrooms. Worts of all was Potions classes which were taken down in the dungeons.

"I do feel so sorry" said Draco, one Potions class. "For all those people who have to stay at Hogwarts for Christmas because they're not wanted home" he paused and looked at Harry, "or because they don't have a home to go back to" then he looked at Cinder and smirked. Cinder glared at him a deathly glare until he looked away.

And it was true, Cinder was no going back to the orphanage, and she was as happy as a she could be. If she had to go back, Miss Crimsoe would punish her for her behaviour the day she ran away.

It was definitely not the first time Cinder tried to escape from the orphanage. She had done it when she was about seven years old, but every time she tried she would end up on the front porch of the orphanage, with nowhere else left to go.

Once the holidays had started, Cinder would send time with Harry and Ron in the library trying to find a guy called Nicolas Flamel. Hermione had gone to spend the holidays with her parents and told them to keep looking for him.

On Christmas, Cinder woke up not expecting any presents at all. The common room was completely empty because all the Slytherin kids didn't want to spend their Christmas with her, but this just made Cinder happy, and who said she was alone. She had invited Harry and Ron to spend Christmas morning with her in the common room and they happily agreed.

There was a knock on the portrait and Cinder quickly ran down and open it for them.

"Merry Christmas" said Ron with a lot of presents in both his and Harry  hands. "We decided to open our presents with you, if you don't mind"

As their were opening their presents, Cinder discovered that there was a small package for her under the Christmas tree. She opened it wondering who had gave her the present. It was a golden ring, engraved into it was the word love. There was a letter with it, written in narrow, loopy writing and it said:

Your mother left this in my possession.
It is time it was returned to you.
Use it well.
A Very Merry Christmas to you.

Cinder was starting at the note, while Harry and Ron were looking at the ring. Harry looked over to Cinder's note and said "it looks like mine"

"What?" asked Cinder

"I got an Invisibility Cloak" he said "and it has the same writing as yours"

"Who do you think send it?" She said as she took the ring back from Ron."and what do you reckon it can do?"

"Are you blind?!?" Ron said "it's a Teleport Ring, they as rare as the Invisibility Cloak"

"Wicked" Cinder and Harry said at the same time.

Cinder put the ring in her finger and it quickly shrunk to match her  size. She closed her eyes and started to think about her bedroom, moments later she opened her eyes and was no longer in the common room. She had just teleported to her bedroom.

"Cinder?!?" She heard Harry shouting, "Cinder where are you?"

She thought about the common room, and poof she was there. She told them that if she thought hard on where to go she can teleport there.
