Everyone that had gone on last nights raid and was still at resistance headquarters at 10pm spent the night there due to the curfew.
Cassie woke up about 8:30am to find she was the last person to wake up. Everyone else had gotten up earlier and most had gone home once the curfew was lifted at 6am.
She went to the lounge or break room, whichever you preferred to call it, to get her morning coffee. She found Skip, Dimple's and Doc Anderson were already there.
Dimple's was at the stove and Skip and Doc were sitting at a table.
"How are you feeling today?" Skip asked as she approached him.
"Wore out!" she answered.
"That's to be expected after the night you had, my dear." commented Doc.
Cassie poured herself a cup of coffee and sat down at the table with them.
"How's 'Loverboy' doing Doc?
"He seems to be doing fine this morning. No fever and all his vitals are good, but I'm going to stick around awhile to keep and eye on him."
Dimple's brought over plates of pancakes and waffles with a side of bacon for Skip and Doc. "Can I fix you a plate, Delilah?"
"Thanks, but I'm not all that hungry at the moment...and since it's just the four of us here, why don't you call me Cassie."
"And please call me Kathy."
Doc gave Cassie a stare. "Eat something Cassie...you need the protein to build up your strength!"
She looked up at Kathy and smiled "In that case Kathy, I'd love to have a plate! Doc's orders, you know!"
"Coming right up!" Kathy giggled. She returned shortly with two plates and sat one in front of Cassie and other down on the table where she took a seat.
"Kathy was a big help to me last night while I was removing that bullet from 'Loverboy'." Doc said, and he patted her on the shoulder. Kathy's cheeks turned a rosy red from blushing.
"She's got medical training too, Cass! I didn't know that, did you know that?" Skip interjected.
"No I didn't!" Cassie looks over at Kathy with surprise.
"There are a lot of things people around here don't know about me!" she said as she seductively eyed Skip.
Cassie caught the look she had given Skip. She leaned over and whispered in her ear. "You go girl!" Kathy stifled a laugh.
"Alright, Cass...what's goin' on between you two?"
"None of your damn business, Skippy!" she said playfully and both girls giggled.
Skip started to frown. Then Doc leaned over to Skip and said "Forget it, Skip...it's a girl thing!"
For the next 30 minutes they all sat around the table chit-chatting while finishing their breakfast.
"Well, guys, It's been fun but I need to hit the showers and get back into my civvies and head home." Cassie said with a sigh.
"Me too!" added Kathy.
The girls got up and walked to the locker room together.
Cassie immediately checked her phone for messages from Marc after opening her locker. There were two voice messages and one text.
"Oh boy...how am I going to explain what I've been up to the last 36 hours?" not realizing she had said this aloud.
Kathy overheard her comment. "Something wrong?"
