I woke up in a big cold room. I looked around and realized I was in a hospital bed. I tried to get up but there were random wires connected to me. I ripped them off and sat up. In front of me, there were doctors talking to a boy. I didn't see his face but he looked to be about my age.

I looked to my right and saw a bottle of water. I was thirsty so I clumsily picked up the bottle only to drop it on the floor.

The people in front of me turned to my direction and started walking my way. That's when I saw it. I could spot those dark green eyes from a mile away. Jason.

He stood behind the two doctors and smiled at me. I smiled back suddenly remembering that I was in the hospital. One of the female doctors picked up the water bottle that laid at the side of the bed.

"Sorry" I said, slightly embarrassed.

"Its okay" she said with a friendly smile.

After looking at a clipboard for what seemed like forever, the second doctor finally spoke up.

"Miss Allyson, there wasn't much damage. It seems you just fainted from exhaustion. I recommend you have a lot of rest to regain you necessary energy. You're free to go."

"Thank you so much" I said as I got out of the uncomfortable bed. I put my shoes back on and walked toward Jason, who was near the door. Why was he here?

"Hey" I said nervously.

"Hey, you okay?" He sounded really worried.

"Yeah, I'm fine. The doctor just said I fainted." I then tried to  recall what happened before I blacked out.

"Yeah you were running pretty fast".

What? Running?

"Umm Jason?" I was confused.

"Huh?"

"Do you know why I was running?"

"I'll explain when we get in the car"

And that's when it hit me. Jason was here because he brought me here.

"Oh, umm thanks". I said quietly. I wasn't even sure he heard me.

"For what?" He opened the door leading to a hallway and he walked out. I followed him.

"Thanks for bringing me here"

"You're welcome. But its no big deal. Its just the friendly thing to do."

We got to the main lobby of the hospital and walked out the doors. And for a while, there was a silence. Not an awkward or uncomfortable one. Just a nice calm silence.

We found his car and he opened my door.

"Why, thank you." I joked. I curtsied and got in.

He laughed and went to the driver's side.

"So are you gonna explain now?" I tried not to show him how impatient I was becoming.

"Oh yeah. So we were at Josh's party and all of a sudden some guy came in and fired a gun. He-"

"Did you know who the guy was?" I interrupted.

"No but he called your name and I guess you got scared because you ran out the door and towards the woods. I ran after you and I didn't catch up to you until you fainted.

"Ohhh" I said, trying to remember everything.

"I carried you back to Josh's house and there were police cars everywhere. I found Josh and told him I was taking you to the hospital."

"Oh shit." I mumbled.

"What's wrong?" he asked

"My best friend. I walked in with her and she disappeared. I haven't seen her since." I took out my phone and dialed her number.

"I'm sure she's fine" He put his hand on my shoulder. I instantly felt a little better.

"It went straight to voicemail." I started to panic.

"Do you want to call the police?"
