Nobody POV
When Anxiety woke up, it was clear he was scared. He wasn't having a panic attack but his breathing was shallow and his eyes were unfocused. Logic spent several minutes calming him down before he could speak. During those minutes Prince was pacing back and forth, Morality was cleaning the popcorn and blankets up, and Thomas was still asleep. Once Anxiety had calmed down enough to speak, Logic asked him what had happened.
Logic POV
"Anxiety?" I asked, keeping my voice soft and low so as to prevent scaring him. He looked up, his eyes focusing on me. He nodded.
"What happened?" I didn't want to press him if something bad had happened but something had clearly occurred in his dream and I wanted to know. If Akuji possessed the necessary ability to enter and act in others dreams then this would change the plan I was formulating.
Anxiety barely seemed to have heard me, but he managed to answer in a small, shaking voice, "Where's th-the Cherry Tr-Tree?"
I looked at him, highly confused. I did not know of a cherry tree near Thomas's location and there was not one in the mindscape due to the rapidly changing nature of the mind. In any case, this failed to confirm or debunk the theory I had regarding what happened to Anxiety so I asked again.
"I do not know where a cherry tree is, and I do not believe there is one in the vicinity. Why? What happened?" I asked, struggling to keep my voice soft.
"I had a dream. Akuji. I need to find the Cherry Tree." He responded, his voice growing steadier.
He closed his eyes. He seemed to be making up his mind regarding a difficult decision. His form started to flicker. Not with light, but with darkness. As I watched, confused, he disappeared from in front of me. Just as he vanished, Roman lunged forward.
His voice cracked as he screamed, "Anxiety!" Anxiety did not seem to notice and vanished completely. Roman had salty tears dripping down his face and Morality simply seemed stunned.
Anxiety POV
I'd had left for the mindscape. Normally I wouldn't use his abilities in front of the others, but strangely I didn't care. Each part of Thomas's personality had a special physical or mental ability: Morality could make others feel emotional, Prince could create things with his imagination, and Logic had a perfect memory and could learn anything. I had the ability to disappear and teleport anywhere I'd been before. They'd never seen mine before.
Once I'd reached the main room of Thomas's mind, I left for the Limbic. It was near to Moralities room because it controlled Thomas's emotions. It had a bunch of chemicals and buttons that released stuff like Serotin and Endophere? I don't really remember. Logic would know.
I had to stop myself from thinking about them. If I thought, it would lead to anxiety. Not a good idea. Especially not here.
Akuji POV
Every single day since I first walked into that room. The three little boys who would grow up to be Patten, Roman, and Logan. I've waited. Sitting in the darkness. They forgot me, or at least tried to. I won't let that happen to Virgil. I'll save him, the only way I know how.
I just hope he comes.
