The Walking Dead (Sonic the Hedgehog Style)

Chapter 3: The Escape

"Everyone have their things?" Johnny asked. Everyone nodded. "Good. Everyone! Upstairs! Now!" Everyone ran upstairs. Sonic was the last one, behind Jim. When Jim was on the staircase, he stopped and turned around. "You're not coming. You're the reason why this happened" he hit Sonic in the head with the back of the gun. Sonic fell to the floor, his vision blurred. 

He heard the walkers breaking through the board. He tried to get up, but couldn't. Suddenly, he saw Johnny come back and picked him up. "C'mon!" Johnny said, giving Sonic a gun. Sonic nodded and his vision became normal again. He ran up the stairs, behind Johnny. They all ran up to the roof. 

"Find something to cover the staircase up!" Johnny said. Wade and Mike pushed a crate in front of the door that had the staircase in it. "There" Mike said. Johnny nodded. "Good work, guys. Now we need to find a way outta this roof" Johnny said. "Hmm." Sonic said. He grabbed a big, wooden plank that was lying there and placed it on the edge of the roof, stopping at the other building's roof.

"Great idea!" Johnny said. "C'mon! Everyone! Move it!" he added. Suddenly, all the zombies at the door broke through. "Shit!" Go!" Johnny yelled out. Everyone ran to the other building, Sonic the last one. Suddenly, the board split into two pieces. The piece connected to the roof everyone else was on was broken off, leaving the other piece free for zombies to roam. 

Suddenly, Sonic's leg got stuck in a hole in the board. The board slowly tilted because of Sonic's now added weight. Everyone on the other side watched; they couldn't help. "C'mon, Sonic!" Johnny yelled in encouragement. Sonic tried to pull his leg out, careful of not adding any extra weight. He looked up and saw the zombies walking on the board to him. One zombie got close and got on top if him. The walker kept on leaning to to bite him, causing the board to tilt some more.

Sonic fought it off. He was unarmed, but still kept fighting back. He pushed the walker off of him. The walker fell back, but was still on the board. Sonic continued to get his leg out.  He loosened it up and it was close to be out. More walkers went for him. Sonic suddenly thought of something. As the walkers came closer, he kicked them to the side, making them fall out of the board and down onto the ground, which was pretty far down. 

Sonic got his leg out and stood up. Unfortunately, when he stood up, the board tilted and began falling. Sonic didn't know what to do! He suddenly went auto-mode. He jumped from the board just in time and saw Johnny stretch his hand out. Weirdly, everything seemed to go in slow-mo. He felt like he was in a game. 

He took his hand out and reached for Johnny's, but fell downwards and couldn't grab it. He suddenly thought of something. He pulled his leg out and put it against the wall of the building and jumping off of it. He then grabbed Johnny's hand and was now on the roof.

"Thanks god you're okay. Any bites?" Johnny asked. Sonic looked around his body. "Nope" Sonic answered, panting heavily. Sonic could hear his heart pounding. "C'mon, we should figure out where we should go next" Johnny said. Jim looked around and saw a ladder. "There's a ladder down to the alley" Jim said, pointing at it. Johnny walked towards it and looked down.

"Hmm. Seems safe. But lemme check" He climbed down the ladder. Everything was quiet. Everyone waited for Johnny to come back up. But suddenly, they heard a scream. The scream was so sudden, it made Jim drop his gun. "Johnny!" Jim and Sonic cried in unison. Jim scrambled for his gun. They saw Johnny climb up the ladder, a walker on his leg trying to get him. "Help me!" he cried out.

Jim grabbed his gun and aimed for the walker. He pulled the trigger, but his gun only clicked. "Dammit!" he yelled out. He scrambled in hurry for his ammo and started reloading. But he dropped the ammo. He went to the ground and grabbed it and began reloading again, shaking like crazy. The walker on Johnny moved up and was now on his abdomen. It aimed for Johnny's neck and went for it. Johnny defended himself. 

Jim finished reloading and aimed for the walker. He pulled the trigger, but the gun didn't fire. Jim checked the barrel and found out the gun was jammed. He tried fixing it, but it took a while. At this rate, Johnny would've been eaten alive and would turn. Suddenly, the walker on Johnny dropped dead on him. Johnny pushed the walker off and got up. "Thanks, Jim" Johnny said. Jim nodded. "That wasn't me" he said. They both suddenly looked at Sonic, who had a pistol in his hand; smoke came out of the muzzle.

"Thanks, man" Johnny said. "Just repaying ya" Sonic said. Johnny smiled. "Okay, so besides for that walker that was on me, the coast is clear" Johnny walked towards the ladder again and climbed down it. Everyone else followed. Once they were all down there, Sonic asked Johnny, "Okay, where to now?" Johnny thought.

Just then, a huge horde of walkers came out of one side of the alley. "What the hell?!" Johnny said. "The gun shot must've attracted them!" Jim said. He glared at Sonic. "It's all this blue piece of shit's fault that we're in this mess" Jim sneered st Sonic. "Jim, not now. We gotta get the hell outta here! Follow me!" Johnny ordered and ran out the other side of the alley. Everyone else followed. 

They then saw a huge horde of walkers outside of the alley. "Shit..." Jim and Johnny both said. The walkers all looked at the group. "RUN!" Johnny blurted out. Everyone started running from them. They all heard a bunch of screams and looked behind them. Trista, Mike, and Wade were all at the walkers feet, trying to defend themselves. Sadly, they died trying. "Dammit! All three of them! First Alex, then this! When will this blue guy stop bringing us bad luck?" Jim asked rhetorically.

Johnny looked around and saw an opening to the woods through a couple of buildings. He pointed at it. " Guys! We can head into the woods through there!" He began running, Jim and Sonic both following.

They all came across huge horde of walkers. "When will these hordes end?" Sonic asked. He took his gun out. Johnny looked at him. "Best if we don't use the guns. They'll attract more attention. Like we need more walkers coming just eat eat our brains out! Best we use blunts" Johnny said. Sonic put his gun down and nodded once. He took a crowbar out. Jim and Johnny both took out machetes. They began chopping up the walkers in their way one by one, bit by bit. It was bloody and disgusting. 

Soon, they were out of the horde, but the walkers kept on coming. They continued to run towards the woods. They needed to get into the woods. They ran through some more walkers, hacking away at them and entered the woods.
