Moving in/1

We drove past the sign 'Welcome to Gatlin, Nebraska!' and sigh. "Come on sis, give it a chance at least" Thomas says with a big goofy smile on his face. I sigh and give him a weak smile. "Cheer up buttercup, I know it's a big change but maybe its for the best. New friends new people. New start." dad
says. "Yeah what a change. Corn." I say sarcastically.

We pull up to the house. Its a two floor house with two bedrooms and one bathroom, along with an office room. The house is yellow and had a deck with chipped white paint.

I grab my brown leather suitcase and walk into the house. I find the room with two beds in it. The room is white and has old creaky dark wood floors. I pick the bed next to the window with white curtains.

"Come on sis, I wanna go explore" Tommy says after setting his suitcase on his bed. I quickly change out of my dress and into a pair of high waisted shorts that are an off white color and has floral print on them, they go down to mid-thigh. I matched it with a baby blue short sleeve shirt thats tucked in and a my old Chuck Taylors.

We walked around for a little bit, there were small gas shops and cafes. We saw a white church along with the small school we would attend. There was a little arcade next to the pizzeria and small movie theater. It was a pretty crappy town if you ask me. Lots of corn.

When we got back dinner was ready. Mom made us chicken with potatoes and of course, corn. I finished eating and went up to my room. I laid my blanket on my bed and put the teddy bear my best friend from back home gave me by the pillow. After hanging up my clothes and putting away my things I went to bed.
