"The most beautiful of women, are the ones with genuine smiles," -Unknown

"Okay, I'm so bored right now." Veronica moans. The gang; Betty, Veronica, Jughead, Archie, and Kevin, were all trapped at another one of Cheryl's disastrous parties.

"Let's play a game then..." Cheryl smirks deviously at Veronica, but the raven haired girl remained unfazed.

"Alright, but I get to chose the game. It's called Smiles. Everyone gets partnered up with someone of my choice." Veronica gestures to herself dramatically. "Then, once everyone has a partner, the two have to go against each other and try to get the other person to smile 5 times. The person who smiles 5 times first is out, then the people who are still in get new partners and it continues until we have only one winner."

The room fills with excited chatter and Veronica won a sarcastic eye roll from Jughead.

"Let the games begin!"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Veronica put Betty with Archie and gave her a wink and whispered;

"Keep it PG!" to Betty, after putting everyone else with their partners. Betty surprisingly doesn't blush, 'I knew she was going to do this to me. It's Archie, I'm obviously going to lose,' she thinks to herself. Deep down she wasn't sure though, of anything anymore. Lately Archie hasn't been giving her those butterflies in her stomach she loved so much, and she wouldn't feel her entire body heat up when they touched hands anymore.

"Who are you and what have you done with Betty Cooper?" Veronica had said when she told her about this. "It's ok B, you know he's crazy about you, and you're crazy about him. It's like it's meant to be!" She said with her eyes glimmering. But Betty wasn't sure.

Archie gave Betty one of his award-winning smiles, "I'm so going to lose." He said to her, still grinning. Betty giggles,

"Don't be so sure Arch."

Throughout the round Archie would crack some horrible jokes, and Betty would easily not laugh. She was too busy thinking about why she wasn't bursting into a fit of giggles like she used to whenever she saw Archie, when he bursts out laughing at 'how funny she looks when she's thinking'

"Who's ready for round two?" Veronica asks the group of laughing teens. The laughter was ringing throughout the room, and finally, there were only two people left; Betty and Jughead

Jughead's expression sours and Betty notices this. 'There's no way I'm not going to smile now,' Jughead thinks to himself, frowning. He really wanted to win this, but at the same time, he would be just as happy if Betty wins, so he puts on his straight face and prepares himself.

At the same time, Betty was also mentally preparing herself; 'I have always been the one to make Juggie smile, I bet I can do it now."

The pair walk up to each other in the centre of the room, looking everywhere but the opposing team's eyes, in fear of being lost in them.

It's funny how life has a way of pushing two people together; whether it's two young teens who're obviously in love with each other, or someone realizing that they need change in their normal life. Although, this was somewhat Veronica's doing.

Jughead looks up at Betty and meets a wave of ice blue staring back at him.

"Remember that time, we were in Archie's treehouse..." Jughead drawls, completely straight faced. Betty's features tighten, she's making a visible effort not to smile. "And-- you tackled me," Betty scrunches up her face, almost as if she were in pain.
