Chap 6

We sat on the window seat for a while when I asked, "What day is it?"

"Monday"

"Monday?!" I asked, sitting up. I looked at the clock, it was 4am. And I wasn't tired enough to go to sleep.

"Yeah. What's wrong?"

"We've got school today, but it's only 4am and I'm not tired enough to sleep. Are you?" I asked.

"No I'm fine," he smiled, "what do you wanna do?"

"Watch TV?"

"Sounds good" he smiled

We moved to sit on my bed and I flicked the TV on, it was something about teenage pregnancies, I didn't really fancy watching that so I flicke onto something else, it was sweet 16 on MVT so we watched that.

6am, I needed to get ready for school, and so did Chase. He hugged me and told me he'd see me at school. He hopped out the window and I hobbled behind him but stopped and sat on the window seat watching him, he shot into his car and was racing down my street to his house, it wasn't far from my house, maybe 15 minutes that's all.

I got up without my crutches this time and limped to the bathroom down the hall, then I remembered I needed my shampoo which was in my drawers in my room so I limped all the way back but when I looked at my bed I saw a note with my name. It said, 'Jaylen, I know you probably will go for a shower when I leave but there's a bag on your desk for you cast so it doesn't get wet in the shower, cya later Chase' I smiled to myself and got the bag off my desk and went for a shower with the bag. It worked, my cast didn't get wet at all.

After my shower I limped back into my room and got dressed, I decided to were a yellow sundress that just reached my knees and my white flip flops, it was the middle of summer after all and in California it can get pretty hot during the day. I applied my make up and set off for school--with the crutches. I was suprised to see Chase's car in the drive way but when I locked up I went over to the drivers side where he had his sunglasses on and, "What are you doing here?"

"I'm giving you a lift to school" he said pulling his sunglasses further down his nose so I could see his eyes.

"But you never give me a lift to school" I stated a little confused.

"You've got a broken ankle, which was my fault, i'm not gonna let you walk all the way to school, come on, I might be a vampire but I'm not that mean"

I laughed, "Alright then, but it wasn't your fault"

He was out the car in a flash right infront of me causing me to step back a bit, "Sorry," he said, "Maybe I should stop with the speed for a while"

I nodded in agreement still trying to grasp the whole situation.

He walked round to the passenger side at human speed and opened the door for me, I wobbled my way to him an got in the car. Then he--at vampire speed--went back round to his side. I rolled my eyes, that's so Chase.

He started the engine and pulled out of my drive, but instead of going right in the direction of school he went left, I looked at him confused but he just shrugged, "I don't feel like going to school today"

"Why?" I asked quite alarmed.

"I wanna show you the real me, if that's okay?"

I stared out of the windscreen thinking, should I be afraid or should I go along with it? "That's fine" I replied a little shakey.

He looked at me and asured me, "Oh, no, you don't need to worry, we're just going to go to this place I know," he looked at me to carry on, "If you trust me?"

"Of course I trust you," to be honest I didn't know what to say, I couldn't exactly say 'oh, no I don't trust you, you're a vampire' that was beyond cruel, he was my best friend, I trusted him before I know what he was so why couldn't I trust him now? I'll just have to make that decision when I find out where we are going, "Where is this place we're going?"

"You'll see" and winked.

I hated not knowing where I'm going but I'm sure it was better than school, or was it? I don't know anymore.
