Secret and strange Angel.
I lowered down my head from the spotlight like how my theatre teacher taught me to do, to tell the audience that I was done singing. Well, there wasn't really an audience, in fact the theatre was bare. And no, not because of my horrific singing, but it was simply just another rehearsal for the next upcoming school musical; The Phantom of the Opera, a broadway classic.
"Woo! YEAH!" A roaring cheer erupted from the chairs.
Just when I thought the theatre was empty. I smiled, knowing who it was just from hearing his voice.
I looked up to see James Wilson standing at his seat cheering and clapping endlessly. He ran down the aisle and jumped up onto the stage, almost falling over as his feet landed on the platform, but luckily he managed to gain back his balance. I quickly ran to him and we collided with each other into a big hugging mess, giggling as he lifted me up and spun me around.
"That was some pretty good singing right there." James said before putting me down.
I felt my feet dropped onto the ground as I looked up to the six feet giant right before me. As he looked down on me, I made contact with his beautiful dark brown eyes, they were glistening under the spotlight like the infinite stars in the galaxy were in them, and that adorable smile, it just melts my heart every time he gives that little curl on the side of his lips, slightly showing his dimples. Maybe it was his dark curly hair, or maybe it was his atrocious anger management problem, something about him just makes him so attractive. He was perfect, just perfect.
James have always been my crush ever since I met him in middle school, being the tall and handsome guy in school, I don't think any girl could resist staring at him. I for one was lucky enough to have him as a best friend, the best friend I could ever have, but sometimes I feel that unfortunately, he is my best friend. It's ironic how comfortable I am telling him everything but somehow I can't seem to find the guts to tell him about my feelings for him, afraid that he won't return the feelings back. Well, it's our last year in high school and I am still head over heels for him. For so many years, how was it even possible to have a crush on someone for so many years. Well, it was possible for James.
"(Y/n)? Hello?" He waved a hand in front of me to get my attention.
"Oh, sorry." I said softly.
I snapped out from my thought, feeling my face tinting pink after realizing I was daydreaming about James in front of him. Quickly, I changed the subject slyly before he noticed my blushing face.
"You think I did great?" I asked.
"Hell yeah, you are the best!" He said loudly, James never learnt to speak in a socially acceptable volume, which I kinda love a lot.
I giggled at his foolishness.
"Thanks, James." I said, always liking how his name comes out of my mouth whenever I say it.
"So... You wanna join me for my next rehearsal? It's tomorrow and I need a partner for the next scene." I asked without thinking, crossing my fingers that he would say yes.
