Chapter 10- Scars

A/N: Hey peeps! Sorry I haven't posted in months, been busy with exams and assignments. But I'm on Easter break now so I have a bit of time to write a chapter on here.

~In the last chapter~

"Do you hate me because I have Kurama sealed inside of me?" He whispered his question. Shikamaru chuckled and shook hi head. "Never. I could never hate you Naruto, you are my brother after all." He said, making the blond smile. "Let's go home! I bet mom has made us something amazing for lunch!" The blond said and he stood up, the brunette following him. "Race you there?" Shikamaru asked. "You're on!" Naruto shouted as they ran along the roof tops, heading home.

~NOW~

( Third persons pov )

The Nara boys ran across the roof tops, Naruto slightly ahead of his brunette brother as they race home. They made sure not to run through the main square, they didn't want the horrid villagers coming after them.

As they reached the Nara estate, it dawned on them that their mother would be quite displeased with them about skipping class; but Shikamaru was sure that she would understand after he explains everything to her.

The young academy students reached the entrance to the Nara estate, Naruto just there a second before his brother. Naruto turned to his brother. "Shika... Could you explain to mom what happened? I just can't do it again without the memories coming with it, you know?" Naruto said, then taking a deep breath. Shikamaru looked at his brother with a face full of sorrow, he gave him a understanding nod. "Of course. But you will have to show mom and dad what those people did to you, okay? They need to know, Naruto." Shikamaru said, his face twisted with anger and bitterness as he said those people; he though of them as beasts, but he knew even that title was too kind.

Naruto hesitantly nodded his head, he knew that his new parents needed to know, he wanted them to know that he trusts them and wants them to help him. So with that nod of the blonds head, they made their way inside of the estate.

They soon reached their house and stopped out side to take off their shoes. Shikamaru could see that Naruto was in distress about what their parents would do. "It will be okay. They know about Kurama, right?" Shikamaru asked, earing a small nod from the blond boy. "So if they already know about him, we already know that the don't hate you. So we can safely assume that they want to help you." Shikamaru said. "Now, let's go and talk to mum, okay?" Shikamaru continued, whilst Naruto sighed but nodded nonetheless.

The boys entered their home, walking to the kitchen to find their mother making some food. "And where have you boys been? You know that the academy notifies me when you don't turn up to class" Shikamei said with a pointed look. The boys sighed, the knew that they were going to have to talk about this when they got back, but that didn't make it any easier.

Shikamaru nodded his head towards the kitchen table, signally for them to all sit down. They all sat down at the table and Shikamaru explained to their mother why they didn't go to class that day. When Shikamaru was finished explaining what had happened, Shikamei turned to her blond son. "Naruto, are you okay?" She asked him in a soft voice. Naruto nodded his head, which earned a sigh of relief from Shikamei.

"Naruto. When Shikaku gets back, could you show us those scars? I know it's hard, but we just want to help, okay?" Shikamei asked the blond. The blond sadly sighed and said "I know. That's why I let Shika tell you, I trust you."

"Well, why don't we have lunch whilst we wait for you father?" Shikamei said with a smile. The boys agreed and went to wash up for lunch. When the boys came back from washing their hands, their father was in the kitchen.

"Boys, your mother has told me about what has happened. After we have lunch, we need to see what damage has been done to you, okay?" Shikaku said as they all sat down to eat.

"Well, to lighten up the mood, I've got some good news." Shikaku said as he took a bit out of his food, chewing . "Well don't keep us waiting Shikaku, spit it out already." Shikamei said. Shikaku grinned and said "Well, that good for nothing excuse for a Hokage didn't even look over the papers when I handed them to him. Not that he would've been able to notice the genjutsu had he even looked at the papers. Shikamei grinned at her husband, "So does that means..." She trailed off which earned an extreme nod from her husband. They both broke out into huge smiles, confusing their children that were present at the table.

Noticing the looks on their sons faces, thy decided to explain. "The paperwork for Naruto's adoption has bee sent away. We will officially be you parents in a few days!" Shikamei said. The Nara children broke out into huge smiles, just like their patents did a few moments ago. "I can't believe it! I'm going to officially have a proper family!" Naruto exclaimed as he took Shikamaru into a tight hug, Shikamaru hugging him back. "I'll officially have a brother! Can you believe this?" Shikamaru said with a grin.

The family continued to eat and talk about their family and soon after finished and headed towards the sitting area. "I know that we just had really good news and that this isn't really what you want to do after getting the news that we did; but Naruto, we as your family, want to help you. Will you let us do that?" Shikaku asked his blond son. Naruto responded with a yes, and released his genjutsu. His parents gasped at the appearance of their youngest, Shikamaru had already seen the scars but they still sent a shiver down his spine.

Shikamei and Shikaku quickly took Naruto into a loving embrace, which made him tense up at first, but he slowly relaxed into their embrace; allowing tears to fall down his whiskered face. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry you had to go through this my child. We're here now, well help you. We will protect you." They said as they continued to hug the little blond.

After that moment, they all decided to disown the entire village and every single person that had brought harm to Naruto. They were going to do everything in their power to bring down the Hokage and make every last person who hurt Naruto pay.

"Boys, I am withdrawing to both from the academy. I will personally train you both, alongside your mother if she wishes. I'll also be getting a few friends of mine to help. You will enter the genin exams when you are of the age to do so. We will help make you boys stronger so that you can protect yourselves from this foul village." Shikaku said, everyone else nodded in agreement.
