First chapter! Tell me What you think!
Chapter One
I giggled, watching my best friend change her clothes for our hang out in the woods. "You look like a big cucumber, Hailey."
She groaned as she pulled down her shirt, fixing it aggressively. "That's not even attractive in vegetable standards." She groaned.
We were always hanging out in the woods, even though my parents told me that it's dangerous to be walking out there. My uncle, built us a tree house deep within the woods So we could have a hiding place. We became best friends ever since when we were little. Our parents were inseparable, like us. But we chose to disobey their rules.
"Are you sure we have to go to our place?" She nervously asked.
I shrugged. "Hailey, like I had told you earlier, we always go out on Fridays." I nodded off before adding, "And besides, we had done this a bazillion times and nothing had gone wrong!" I reassured her.
She groaned in response. "Paige, it's seven o'clock in the evening and it's going to rain,"
I looked at her. As if her sentence hadn't made sense at all. "So?"
She rose her hands to shut me up as She bit her bottom lip in frustration. "You know what, I can't go today."
"But why?" I whined. How could She not go with me?
"I have a bad feeling about this. . ." She trailed off, twisting her hair strands with her fingers.
"Hailey, we'll just play a game! That game that we had used to play when we were ten!" I shook her shoulders. Desperately trying to convince her to come with me.
"Okay, okay!" She exclaimed as She playfully pushed me away. "But we'll be back at seven thirty, okay?"
"Okay,"
We stood up and reluctantly left the house. Our families were busy cooking and preparing dinner, So we had to take the opportunity to go to the woods. We always have a flashlight with us, though. And Hailey and I were never afraid of the dark. Simply because monsters and vampires doesn't exist.
The cold draft of the wind had immediately informed us that it was definitely going to rain any minute. But we absolutely don't care.
"Okay," I began. We could hear nothing but the crickets and the chirps of the birds. It had been very nature-like. "Let's play hide and clap!" I squealed, causing my voice to echo.
"Okay, I'll be the one to hide! Only three claps available!" She agreed as She took out the handkerchief inside her bag and had covered my eyes using the fabric. Just before then, She spun me around for three times and I heard her quick footsteps fading away—Indicating that She had ran off.
I spread my arms everywhere as I walked. Making sure I won't hit against the tree or something hard that would hurt me.
"First clap!" I yelled, stopping my tracks as I waited for her response.
I heard a clap on my right and I swiftly turned around to that direction. Wow, she's far.
I smiled in excitement as I continued my action on searching for Hailey. As we played our game, the woods became more silent and I could feel its darkness. So I had decided to end it quicker. "Second clap!"
I heard a loud clap, but this one kind of moved further. It was like a mile away, but the sound of it was crystal clear. I began to walk faster, wiggling my hands everywhere as I searched for my best friend.
As I stepped closer, I heard heavy breathings. And this time, I'm damn sure she's beside me.
"Third clap." I stated, smiling wide as I had felt her breath fanning my shoulder.
And then I heard her one last clap.
"I got you, Hailey." I sang, slowly turning my head beside me and had quickly removed the handkerchief on my eyes.
But as soon as I had opened my eyes, I saw nothing.
"Hailey!" I called, scratching my head as my vision had started to turn clear again.
I didn't heard her response, and the woods became darker than earlier. I don't even remember this part of the area! "Hailey!" I called again but had received no response.
"Come on! That's unfair you were right beside me!" I tried again, turning my head everywhere. But there was no sign of her.
Suddenly, I felt someone breathing behind me. It wasn't her, that's for sure. The person behind me chuckled deeply, and it had made my body stiff. I was unable to move an inch. My eyes widened and my lips parted as I felt a strong, hard arm wrapping around my waist.
This shit ain't her.
"Going somewhere, love?" The person behind me whispered in my ear. Obviously, the person behind me, is a man.
I swallowed, hard. His hold tightened as it had felt like he was back-hugging me.
"You smell. . ." He whispered, as a chill ran down my spine. "Exquisite." He stated, rubbing his nose against my neck.
Oh shit. Oh shit Oh shit.
I tried to shove his arm away, but I failed. "Paige. . . Is your name, right baby?" He asked with his deep, british accent. How the fuck did he knew my name? Who the fuck is he?
I slowly turned my head around, and had noticed his height towering me. I glanced up, and had seen nothing except the figure of his curly hair.
"You crossed my territory," He whispered. Making me breathe quicker in nervousness. "And surprisingly," He whispered, as he leant closer to my ear. "You crossed the line."
I kept quiet. Afraid that he would beat the flesh out of me if I talk back.
"Now that you're here. . ." He groaned, giving me goose bumps. "You're mine."
