Raelyn

"Gigi, I have no future." I said throwing my head back in defeat. Gigi scoffed. "Rae, stop talking like that. you're the smartest girl I know." She retorted. "That all means nothing if I can't even put my smarts to use." I said back, closing my eyes. "My parents are totally against me going to university because of that.." I bit my tongue before I could curse. I wanted to curse. "Rae-" Gigi started.

"I can't believe this. I'm really going to marry him..." I sat up straight and twisted the ends of one of my braids. "You could get lucky and he'd totally forget about you." She told me sincerely, rubbing my back. I rested my head on her shoulder. "I doubt it, but being optimistic is the only thing I have right now." I shuddered as I remembered Stefano's stares and once overs.

"You should have seen him, Gigi. I mean, I didn't see his face but the way he handled my father scared me. My mom was looking at him as if he were the devil." I said bringing up the morning that shook me to the core. I scoffed. "And that's the man they're pushing me to marry."

"I still can't believe it, Rae."

Gigi turned her head around and I did as well, seeing the cause for the action was Vincent's entrance into the library. I smiled and my heart fluttered when he gave me a wink. "Bleh." Gigi said pretending to gag.

Vincent walked up to me and leaned down, capturing my lips with his. We smiled into the kiss and Vincent groaned, causing me to giggle and pull away while Gigi groaned in disgust.

"What are you ladies talking about?" Vincent asked, sitting next to me and putting a protective arm around me as well. Knowing how Vincent's temper could be, I lied. "Just girl stuff."

He didn't need to know we were talking about Stefano.

"Yuck." He said making me roll my eyes. Gigi shot me a knowing look.

"So Rae, you excited about that gig this weekend?" Gigi asked trying to flip the conversation to something more light. I was confused for a split second but then remembered I did have to sing at an event tomorrow. How did I forget?

"Gigi thank you for reminding me. Jesus, I forgot what I'm even supposed to sing." I said shaking my head. Vincent leaned in and kissed my cheek. "You know a lot of songs, you'll think of something, baby."

"I hope so." I frowned.

"Who are you singing for this time?" Gigi asked curious. She leaned back in her revolving little chair and crossed her arms behind her head. Vincent played with the ends of my hair.

"Another rich family. They're celebrating the wife's birthday." I said remembering the details. "I'm actually getting paid for singing." I said in disbelief. "Very soon you'll be selling out stadiums." Vincent laughed in encouragement.

I threw my head back and covered my mouth.

*The next night*

Stefano

"We meet again." Senator Franklin stretches out his hand for me to shake. I shook it, a slight grin on his face. "I want to thank you for coming to my Wife's birthday celebration." He added. I nodded my head in return.

I didn't care for this celebration.

My purpose here was only to talk business. This man is as crooked as a question mark, and we needed more men like him on our side.

As well as that, I also wanted to continue fucking the brains out of his daughter.

"Hi daddy!" The annoying familiar voice of his daughter sounded through my ears as she quickly made her way towards us. When we locked eyes, she tossed me a seductive smile  and leaned over and kissed her father on the cheek.
