Ava's pov
It was a cool summer day when I woke up to the sound of giggling and the pitter-patter of little feet. Two adorable children, Star and Seth, were jumping on my bed, eager to play outside. Luna, their sister, walked in and scolded them gently, reminding them that they should have woken me up. I assured Luna it was alright, as I was already awake. 

After getting the children settled in the TV room with my brother and his friends, I made my way to the bathroom for a shower. Refreshed and changed, I joined everyone downstairs. Corbyn, my brother, greeted me with a smile, and I playfully grumbled about being woken up by the little monsters. Luna and Maddie joined in the laughter, and we all enjoyed each other's company.

With the sun shining outside, Luna and I decided to go for a run. Embracing our wolf forms, we dashed through the forest, the wind rushing past us. Lost in the exhilaration, I ignored Luna's call to stop. Suddenly, I was ambushed by four vampires who swiftly pinned me to the ground. Luna came to my rescue, fending off one of them, but she was bitten in the process. Rage consumed me as I fought back, biting the vampire on Luna. They fled, but the damage had been done. I shifted back to my human form, desperately calling out to Luna, tears streaming down my face. I howled, summoning the others for help, and for five agonizing minutes, I waited by Luna's side, crying and praying for her to be alright.

Finally, the boys arrived with Logan and the Dolan twins. Corbyn helped me up and held me close as we walked together. In the distance, I spotted two vampires who seemed to smirk at me. Zach and Jonah noticed my gaze, and Grayson urged me to come along. We returned home, where Logan gently laid Luna on her bed, her siblings at her side. Unable to bear her pain, I stepped outside, finding solace on a rock, pondering over who could have done this to her.

Jonah approached me, wondering why I was out there. I confessed my inability to stay inside when my best friend was suffering. He understood and left me to my thoughts. Then, Chance appeared, his smirk fueling my anger. My eyes turned red, and I transformed into a wolf, chasing after him. Two other vampires joined the pursuit, but Ethan and Grayson swiftly intervened, biting them. Just as I thought I had Chance cornered, I glimpsed Logan's arrival.

Returning to the house, Logan called for a meeting, his frustration evident in his voice. He berated me for risking my life, reminding me that vampires could deceive me. I apologized, my voice filled with remorse. Logan made me realize the gravity of my actions, emphasizing that if I were hurt or worse, Corbyn would be left alone. With a heavy heart, I acknowledged his words, my gaze falling upon Corbyn, who appeared crestfallen.

Retreating to my room, I found myself drawn to Luna's side. Sitting beside her, I witnessed her suffering and felt a deep ache within me. Unable to bear her pain any longer, I stepped outside, seeking solace in the night.
