Hey girlies!!
So I've decided to make a advice book cause when I first got my period a advice book would of really helped me and just to know some of the basic stuff
So first chapter as you can see the title it's going to be a basic starter but if you already know why we get periods and how you can just skip to the next chapter!!
Okay so a period is formally known as a menstrual cycle it occurs commonly once a month for a female but there are many problems which you might get it more than once a month which you should consult a doctor about it. In most common cases when you first start your period, you might get irregular periods , but if you get worried over something always consult a doctor.
Anyway the menstrual cycle is the regular natural change that occurs in the female reproductive system (specifically the uterus and ovaries) that makes pregnancy possible. The cycle is required for the production of ovocytes, and for the preparation of the uterus for pregnancy. Up to 80% of women report having some symptoms during the one to two weeks prior to menstruation. Most Common symptoms found in women include acne , tender breasts, bloating, feeling tired, irritability and mood changes. These symptoms interfere with normal life and therefore qualify as PMS which stands for premenstrual symptoms
Periods commonly start at the age from 12 to 16 but occasionally you might even start at the early age of 8 which is still absolutely normal you have just developed quickly
The average age of the first period is generally later in the developing world and earlier in developed world. The typical length of time between the first day of your period and the first day of the next is 21 to 45 days in young women and 21 to 35 days in adults (an average of 28 days). But and reminder each female is different in their body
Menstruation will stop occurring when you get older and it is known as menopause which usually occurs between 45 and 55 years of age.
Approximately mid-cycle, 24–36 hours after the luteinzing hormone (LH) surges, the dominant follicle releases an ovocyte, in an event called ovulation. After ovulation, the ovocyte only lives for 24 hours or less without fertilization while the remains of the dominant follicle in the ovary become a corpus letum; this body has a primary function of producing large amounts of progesterone.
Under the influence of progesterone, the uterine lining changes to prepare for potential implantion of an embryo to establish a pregnancy. If implantation does not occur within approximately two weeks, the corpus luteum will involute, causing a sharp drop in levels of both progesterone and estrogen. The hormone drop causes the uterus to shed its lining in a process termed menstruation. Menstruation also occurs in some other animals including shrews, bats and other primates such as apes and monkeys.
I hope everyone has learned some stuff from this chapter and remember to send me a message or comment a story and i can put it on my book! Stay tuned for more girlies ♡
