The widowed women filed out of their homes to the light filled graveyard dressed it their most beautiful wedding dresses.
The women had an aura of melancholy and happiness. The whole town was asleep except for the widowed women who are expected to have a wonderful time.
Small tables littered the graveyard each table for each widow and their significant other. A candle lit on the middle of each one, rose petals scattered and a single glass filled with champagne on each table.
The widows sat at their appropriate table. No one talked and no one looked away from where they had first laid their eyes entering the graveyard.
Perfect silence surrounded the widowed women until the huge clock in the towns square struck midnight. The widows took deep breaths and waited.
Slowly skeletal corpses dug their way from the softened ground. Tattered pieces of clothing hung from their skeletal limbs. Each of the skeletal corpses sat at their respective tables.
At each table the widows and skeletons started at one another conveying their love and emotions with one another. They bowed their heads to each other and the widowed women had finally drank their champagne.
At each table the women and the skeletons stood and the music started. The women smiled when the skeletons walked around the table and grabbed each woman's hand taking them to the clearing.
The dance started and it seemed to be the salsa this year the women smiled and laughed throwing their heads back. Their dresses swirled and flowed about them.
The couples enjoyed the night and little time they had together. The clock struck three and the skeletal corpses went back to their graves and the women to their homes.
This would be the last time they see each other till next year.
