Chapter 2

I found Jack Avery's diary. And my life was never gonna be the same. What have I gotten myself into? I thought as I spied on Jack from my window.

"Ashley's being naughty! Spying on the neighbors!" Carrie said as she walked into my room. "Spying in her undies!"

"Come on, Carrie, get out of my room!" I screamed.

"Are you in love with Jack?" She asked.

"Privacy, please, or you're NOT gonna like what happens..." I said.

"Mommy says Jack is a BAD BOY!" She said cutting me off. Then she started dancing and singing "BAD BOY! BAD BOY!"

I warned her, right? I took out my phone and started filming her.

"Wha, what are you doing?" She asked.

"Filming your little dance. Now I'm gonna post it." I said.

"No! No! No! Ashley, please!!" She begged. Then she started crying.

"If you don't want me to post it, you would have left my room." I said.

"Thanks for stopping by!" I screamed as she ran out of my room crying.

I wasn't even filming... but she don't gotta know that! Okay, Ellis will be here any minute, I HAVE to get changed! I put on some jeans and a blue shirt.

"Did you yell at your sister?" My mom said as she came into my room.

"I taught her a lesson about spying." I said.

"Well, I need you to watch her tonight. Jeff is--" She said.

"I don't want to hear about your stupid boyfriend." I said cutting her off.

"Please, sweetie, I know this is hard for you, but--" She said.

"AND you told me I could go over to AMY's!" I said cutting her off again. "We're making posters for the dance. The same dance we're baking all those cupcakes for remember?"

"Oh? Who're you going with?" She asked.

"I'm going with Ellis and Amy. No dates for us." I said.

"Because you know your old--" She said.

"Mom, stop please, I don't want to talk about that!" I said cutting her off.

We had an unspoken agreement. We don't talk about boys. Of any kind. There's no need to dig into either of our love lives.

"Okay, honey. Go and have fun. Do you need a ride?" She asked.

"No. Ellis is picking me up." I said.

"Maybe Jeff can come over and make us his famous pizza." My mom said as she started walking out of my room.

"Hey, mom?" I said before she left my room.

"Yeah?" She said as she turned around.

"Thanks." I said.

"I love you, honey." She said as she left my room.

Let's get this show on the road! Then I got my stuff and went outside to wait for Ellis.

"Hey, honey! Ready to go?" Ellis said.

"El, where's your car? Whose car is--" I said.

"Hey, baby. Guess who's back?" Corbyn said cutting me off.

OH. MY. GOD. It's Corbyn, Ellis' twin brother, and my... EX-BOYFRIEND!

"Did you miss me?" He asked.
