My dearest Audrey,

I write this to you in fear. You being young, I do not expect you to completely understand why I must leave this letter on your bedside. Between my thoughts and my tears I can already imagine you rolling in your bed, stretching out your little legs and opening your eyes with great hope with every passing day.

Every morning I yearn to be able to witness the release of your joy, and you must promise me that it is something you will not let go of. Pretend that I gave you an invisible pinky-promise. I know you love doing those.

I have a purpose for leaving, and I will tell you it as simply as I can. I am in search for a better life for you. At this point, my goals have been all about you. I bring home food, for you, I ward off evil, for you.

Once I find your grandparents, we can eat as much ice cream as we want, watch movies all day, and go explore the outdoors without worry.

I want you to write to me as I travel, I have some set destinations to where I will look for your letters. Send your first one to a man of the name of Charlie, tell Ms. Willis in the room next to us and she will understand and will mail it off for you.

     I'll be back soon,

                                  With infinite love,

                                           Daddy
