Ms. Ava hit me today. Please dont make her my mommy. All I did was ask a question about you. She never wants to talk about you. But you're all i can wrap my head around.
I don't want to tell any of the kids at school that you left, because I know you will be back. We can lay in bed and you can read me a part of your favorite books you keep hidden under the bed for me. Away from Ms. Ava.
Ms. Ava tells me things. As bleached hair falls in lumps over her face she tells me stories. But only when shes in a good mood. She has even done my hair before. But only once. But she doesnt compare to my real mommy. Or to you. I miss you.
I need you to help me with my homework but I dont want to be greedy. I pinky promise you I will be good. But you better promise you will be back.
I talked to Ms. Willis earlier and she said if I ever needed help she would be there. Shes so kind for a woman that looks like a mad scientist. I guess I cant judge people by their covers anymore. Promise me you wont do that where you are.
With infinite love,
Audrey
