Jaeden's perspective:

gym class sucks. I hate running and playing stupid active games.

really anything that involves moving...

"Jaeden! hurry up!" Mr. James hollered as we ran laps.

I rolled my eyes and began to jog faster, which made my heart thump more.

I saw y/n as she passed me, her hair was in a messy ponytail and she was in short shorts and a tank top.

God, I think she looks stunning like that.

I stopped and stared as she continued to jog with her friends, I never noticed how perfect she really was.

until I saw her, like all of her.

I finished my lap and sat down with the class, glancing around the circle for y/n.

"guys I'm not impressed with how today went." Mr. James started.

y/n was the only person who wasn't sweating and breathing harder than usual. which meant she does this often.

"but since everyone at least did one lap, I'll let it slide," he added.

"but today is partner pass in volleyball." he began. "girls and guys will only be partners. no girls and girls or guys and guys."

everyone groaned in irritation.

"I'll be choosing the people who'll work the best as well," he said.

everyone looked at one another and I made quick eye contact with y/n.

I looked away and felt my face heat up. I don't know why I'm exactly feeling this way towards her...

I mean, she's new. and beautiful, athletic, nice and outgoing...

"Okay, so Nicholas and Emmy." Mr. James said as he pulled out a list.

"Caleb and Talia."

"Reylynn and Noah."

"Gaten and Lila."

"Ellie and Peyton."

y/n looked at me and smiled slightly. I smiled back and we both got up and walked over to each other.

"hi, want me to get the ball?" she wondered, I nodded and she went to receive one from the teacher.

once she got one and came back we began to pass it back and forth.

she laughed whenever one of us missed the pass, and so did I.

"so! do you like gym?" she asked as we passed the ball.

"no, not really if I'm honest," I replied with truthfully.

"Oh, I like gym. I'm not a fan of health class." she tells me, I wanted to say; "yeah I know, Finn told me"

but I didn't want to freak her out.

she giggled lightly as the ball accidentally hit me in the face. not hard, but it sure hurt.

"ow," I mumbled, she walked up to me and took the ball.

"you okay Jae?" she asked with concern.

"Yeah, I'm fine, just an accident," I assured.

she nodded and went back to her place.

"ok, ready?"

"ready," I said while holding my hands up.

she threw it and I caught it this time.

"good one Jaeden!" she winked.

my face went a dark shade of red and I passed the ball back again.

"now let's go and get back into regular clothes." Mr. James yelled.

everyone returned the balls and walked back to the dressing rooms, I looked at y/n once more before she disappeared into the girls change room.

shoot. Finn likes her too.
