"Emma calm down, just tell me what happened" Abbey said into her phone.
"I don't know, he just passed out. He was talking to me, then he stopped... Then he just yelled and..." Emma could barely get the words out between sobs.
"And he's still out?" Abbey was trying to keep her panic on a low.
She knew the answer,
Of course he was.
"Yes!!" Emma screamed "I don't know what to do, I'm scared Abbey. Our parents are out"
"What did you do the last time?"
"Nothing.... I didn't do anything, he just woke up" she was fighting back a sob. "It didn't take this long. Ohmigosh, Abbey what if......."
"Don't!!!" Abbey cut her off, "don't even say it"
Emma had started to cry. "But what if he......."
"EMMA!!.. Shut up!!.. That's not happening, I'm on my way. We'll fix this." She tried to hide the doubt in her voice.
She knew it was hopeless.
"Hurry please.." Emma burst into tears. "Its worse this time."
Worse?... After last time it could actually get worse?
Her fingers tightened on the steering wheel. Fear churning in her stomach.
She and Luke had been best friends for close to 10 years now, and funny enough she had always known.
Even before Luke.
It was just a matter of time.
No, not yet... We need more time, just a little more. Abbey knew exactly what they wanted.
She had suspected it, not wanting it to be true.
She shifted the possibility from her mind. Dreading the thought of it actually happening.
"Just stay there with him, I'll be there in 5." She said and hung up.
