Chapter 1
There are some times in your life that aren't like the others. Some days you wake up and go to school, some days you get up and do your chores. On Friday, I was going camping. Camping wasn't particularly fun for me. For me camping was just living outside for a weekend. That wasn't the case this time. This time was different.
Sal was my best friend. Sal was usually the one who got the girls, he was very athletic. He plays baseball, and pitches like you've never seen. Me and Sal were always great friends, and have been for as long as I can remember. I guess I haven't properly introduced myself yet. My name is Brandon. I'm 13 years old, as is Sal. I'm not very athletic, pretty slow, and I don't always get the girls. I guess now you're only cool if you've got ripped abs or a nice ass. Who knows what happened to society. Back to the story. Me and Sal loaded into the truck hauling my parents RV, and we were off to the camp site. Ryder Hill National Park was where we were going. I was very familiar with these camp grounds. I had been camping there at least a hundred times now. Me and Sal talked all along the way to Ryder Hill. Sal grinned and said "Maybe there will be some hot chicks" I chuckled and replied saying "I've got a girlfriend Sal, but feel free to get some numbers" Sal laughed. We sat in silence the rest of the way there. I was only thinking about the field trip I had earlier that day. We went to the cemetery, and searched for certain graves and junk. Nothing too great. We arrived at the camp site, my grandparents were already there, with their RV all set up. Me and Sal set up our tent while my parents set up the trailer. "Go and have some fun down by the river" My mom says to us. I felt a bit blessed, because normally my mom would have us unload all the food and bikes. "Uh, okay. Be back in a few" I said as we walked away. Our camp site was right next to the volley ball court, where two kids were playing in the sand. Me and Sal made our way down to the river. There was one little opening into the river, where there were 3 girls and a kid. Sal, being a bit awkward when he sees a cute girl, says "Oh my god Brandon, walk faster" I run a little bit to catch up with him. He walks down onto this little path with a log laying across it. He sits down on it, and I sit beside him. "That one, Brandon, that one with the gray shirt is so hot" Sal says, blushing like crazy. "Calm down dude, Just go and get her number" I say to this boy who looks love struck. "No no no, I'll scare her away if I ask now, I have to wait till tomorrow" Suddenly a little kid spots us, grabs wet sand and starts to walk down the path. He hurls this sand clot at us. Me and Sal get up as quick as we can and run back up the path, the little kid chasing us all the way.
Chapter 2
When we got out from the river area, we went up to the valley ball court and sat down in the sand. But it wasn't over yet. While me and Sal were throwing the Frisbee around on the volley ball court, the little kid came out of the forest with more sand. And so he threw more at us. By this time, the girls had come out from the river and back to their camp, Sal and I made this into a game, where we had to throw the Frisbee to each other, and avoid being hit with sand. Finally, this girl who Sal was obsessing over comes over and stops the little kid from throwing sand at us. "Sorry about that" She says to us. "Oh, it's fine, we were having fun with it" She nodded slightly, and helped the kid dig his hole that he had previously started. Me and Sal threw the Frisbee back and forth for about thirty minutes, and headed in. After a while, the court was open, and we headed back to throw the Frisbee some more. A couple little kids came out. "Can we play too?" The little girl asked. "Uh, yeah, I mean sure go ahead" I said to her. She tried throwing it, but did not succeed on getting it to the boy on the other side of the net. "Here let me show you" I said as I showed her how to throw the Frisbee correctly. "What's your name?" I asked her. "My name is Amy!" she said to me. "And I'm Cody!" said one of the little boys on the other side. "And my name is Will" He said with a huge smile on his face. It was only then that I realized this was the kid who was throwing sand at us. I laughed a little bit to myself, and continued to play Frisbee with all of the kids.
